Wow, these are sensational, what a fabulous outcome! Did you have the second setting custom made? Just wonderful!
I forgot to update this thread but with the help of @2Neezers I was able to make the mismatched cushion tourmaline earrings of my dreams!
I present, my chonker bubblegum earrings! The tourmalines are more like cousins then twins but it fits with their drastic mismatch in color.
When worn they give the onlooker quite the shock! I had a woman at the airport who was ringing my book up and made a comment about how at first glance, she thought her memory or sight was failing her because they were pink but I turned and they were blue haha, although she did think that they were a lot of fun!
They're a super fun pop of color to wear! Plus depending upon what I'm wearing the blue-green tourmaline can look more teal or more minty which can really change up the look of the pair!
What really makes me happy is their similarity to the earrings my mother wore when I was a child, albeit these are the fine version in cushions than trillions. Their chonky simplicity and fun dangle articulation is the same and they have brought me so much joy!
I really need to take better photos of them but these are what I have so far!
I think I might be the only one on PS that struggles to take good ear shots! They always turn out blurry & crazy looking!
Oh so much fun !
I love them
The colours are amazing
And its a lovelly bonus they remind you of your mum's ones
Thank you so much sweet Daisy! I have missed reading your words on PS which have always been so kind & encouraging. I'm glad that you too enjoy the colors these little bubblegum drops are serving! Haha
The bright rich Barbie pink of the first earring is what inspired me to keep it as one and to try and look for a sister!
Thank you LemonMoonLex
I completky missed this thread the first time and its been a right little delight to read it tonight
Our world has been thriugh such turmoil (im watching the 6pm news) and I think jewlery needs to be fun right now
I think if i was the lady in the bookstore i would be smiling all day after serving you
I know, so much going on right now and it seems like the world isn't letting up yet. It can feel a bit like we're all just trying to survive and I know little escapes and glimpses of beauty have been getting me through.
Jewelry and gemstones being one of them. Relishing In the stories of others and their growing collections can give us just enough time to keep our minds off of the chaos.
Im so elated to hear that my silly ole' thread has brought even a pinch of joy to your day. I hope you find some peace and some relief, and that we all do soon. If not at least we have our sparklies Thank you for always being so human & kind to me!
And oh my yes! That sweet woman acted like I had just done a bit of a magic trick!

Thank you for voicing your concern but to satiate it:
No, not whatsoever (: Especially not as earrings! I noticed that they had different facet patterns but as long as they're the same overall shape & same size face up, which they are, I am a happy gal.
(& Although I'm a member of PS I tend to not fit into the scrupulous
rumored nature of the site members, or so I'd like to think! ha)
If I don't know if I would call them scrupulous, maybe a little picky. It's human nature to develop a discerning attitude and to establish more expensive tastes as we get older. The decent stones that once wowed us now seem dull simply because we have "been there done that."
That being said, striving only for the best can make us forget about the fun of colored stones!
Anyway, just my philosophical tidbit for the day. Congratulations on the beautiful and unique earrings! I absolutely love the seafoam blue and you're right, the different cutting styles work well.
