I have not purchased from them but I did go to their store last summer while in Atlanta. We were staying within a block of them and as a true PS''er I decided to spend some spare time looking at their pretties. They have nice settings and carry many quality designer rings. I do recall that I compared the price of some of their designer settings with Pearlman''s prices and Pearlman''s prices were slightly lower. They had a steady stream of customers while I was there.
I did not look at their diamond supply so I do not know about the quality of their diamonds. Of course, in purchasing a diamond from anywhere, you need to check the grading certificate, look at and idealscope image (if possible) - among other things. If you have a diamond you are interested in, post the information here and several of the resident experts can help you evaluate it.
Maybe someone from the Atlanta area will see this thread and provide further information. You can also enter Solomon Brothers into the search function and see if there has been any postings about them in the past.

they have a great selection of settings and I am sure they have a nice selection of loose stones, but my sales person was not very educated. She showed me a GIA stone and I asked if they had AGS. She told be AGS was a low grading system. I told her that was not the case and one of her co-workers corrected her. She explained she must have it confused with EGL or the like. Who knows.

Anyway, I went back a few months later to look at settings again. They asked if I''d met w/ anyone before and I said yest, but I''d prefer someone else. They gave me a new person and she was pleasant, but I did not have a chance for her to show me loose stones.

On my final visit I took my good friend with me who was visiting from Moscow. I wanted to show her my "short list" Well, the one person there to help me was the first lady who said AGS was bad. Well, she was upset that I did not ask for her when I was in earlier. It really rubbed me the wrong way. I could tell they worked on a commission and were more worried about that than helping me.

One other thing, they make it clear that the "list price" is just a starting point and will negotiate, so if you go, be educated and bring your best bargaining skills!

Well, if things worked out, I could have been an actual customer...

I've tried to purchase from them online on 2 separate occasions to get a pendant stone. All ended up in nothing. The first time I worked with a woman who emailed me back once and then when I called her and talked to her, she NEVER returned my phone calls. She never told me anything except that the stone was with another vendor and she had to check and see if it was available. Finally I got a hold of her about a week later. Turns out the stone was sold and she said their website is not usually updated immediately, but a few days later.

So back to the drawing board. I found another stone. This time I decided to purchase it through the website. I didn't do a credit card transaction because I was a bit worried about what happened the first time. I didn't get a call about how to pay for several days, then I called again. After getting transferred a few times, I finally got a hold of the man who does websales. He was very pleasant. He looked up the status of the stone and it turns out it was with another vendor. Being the pricescoper I am. I decided to look and see who the other vendor was. It was Abazais and was listed on their site. I got really excited.

He calls me back an hour later and it turns out the stone was sold.

He offers that if I find anything else, to give him a call directly. Then I go back on Abazais website, match up the gia number and give them a call. It turns out the stone is in India and to get it I'd have to pay an international shipping fee. Confused, I move on...

So I decide to go with Whiteflash where James helped me and I got a stone in a few days. I set it in a bezel and wore it for a holiday dinner. No hassle!

Then, the kicker, several weeks later, I get an email from the first woman at Solomon Brothers asking if I need a pendant stone because she can help me...

I'm sure going to the physical store location is much easier. I've realized they're not really setup for online sales.

Btw, you might have better luck than I did, so who knows?!
