Thanks for your detailed feedback, sorry to hear you had to go through that situation!I got Zillion insurance with a ring purchase from Yadav (I understand they partner). Glad I did.
Was going to present a ring to my wife on our trip to Mexico, so was worried that it might get stolen from a hotel room or lost at the beach, so decided that it would make sense to purchase the insurance to have some piece of mind. Nothing happened during our trip and we got the ring back home to NYC.
But! A few weeks later, my wife was moving the ring on her finger, while on a pier above the East River, and... she dropped it into the river (the pier surface is not concrete, but a metal grille with holes way larger than a small ring).
I was not with her at the moment, she called me, I e-mailed Zillion right away, they responded quickly and asked us to file a police report. We found a police station next to that pier, submitted a report. To get a copy of the report, I had to go to a central NYPD office in the downtown Manhattan next Monday. I sent Zillion a copy, and shortly after that they sent a GIA report for approval. All the diamond specs matched or exceeded the diamond we lost. They instructed Yadav to create a new ring, offered to change a ring size if it was too loose. It took ~two weeks to receive a new ring (I understand Yadav was waiting for this new stone to get to their store). We received a ring and a couple days later Zillion even sent us flowers to make us even happier.
Can't recommend these guys more - were super-responsive during the process, provided the equivalent replacement ring very quickly. It would have been a complete disaster if I had not purchased the insurance... The ring was just ~2 months old when she lost it and we didn't get enough of it by that time for sure.
