Hello all!

I am trying to decide if I want a plain shank or a diamond shank on my Ering and wedding band. Originally I fell in love with a plain shank for the diamond solitaire with a halo but after trying it on with a 1/2 eternity wedding band - I''m not so sure. I was looking at the set (not a true set, just two seperates) and it felt like the halo belonged on the diamond eternity band and therefore looked "off-center" on the ring.

Thoughts?

more importantly, Photos of yours together?

Thanks for all your help.

I think you need to try one on with more styles (i.e. channel set bands, delicate pave bands, smaller shared prongs). The right proportion makes a HUGE difference in how well two rings may look together.

I like halo''s with plain shanks, but it all depends on what you find more attractive to your own eye.

Have you looked at the halo threads in the SMTB forum? There may be some in there.

I know you asked for rounds, but Gypsy''s set is one of my favorites and it''s close to what you are describing (diamond halo, no diamonds on e-ring shank, half eternity wedding band). I admittedly don''t like matchy-matchy sets and I think her rings do a great job of complmenting each other. I hope Gypsy doesn''t mind me using her photo!

ooh, That is nice! Thanks for sharing. :) I agree about the matchy matchy sets. They are either amazing or ... well... you catch my drift I am sure.

Even though I did ask for round, it is not super important. The visual I am trying to see is the bands.

Thanks again, and Gypsy does have a fantastic set!

bumping old thread

I too would like to see more examples of halo solitaires.

I'm torn between traditional halo rings with diamond paved bands or just plan solitaire band. I'm thinking the solitaire might look better in person since the center stone and halo would stand out... just not enough sample pics online that i can find

Here is a pic of my halo with two 1.5 bands.

I have a plain shank round tacori halo and I plan on pairing it with a custom novo style band. The matching tacori band was not as nice as going custom. I'll post the pictures later when I am able to get to my computer. I love the look of this! And didn't want matching shanks.

Here is the image of my engagement ring and the band I'm having made.

Not at all NEL! Thank you so much for posting and for your sweet words-- you ring is one of my favorites too! Mutual admiration society. Obviously I think it's a good look (LOL)... what I like about it is that it emphasizes the two most important parts of the set to me. The center stone and the wedding band. The plain shank just fades away a lot of time (like a solitaire) and just leaves the diamond floating there.
