A few months ago we decided to switch our kitties over to healthier diets. We found a few local places that carried higher end brands and went in and bought a can of all the ones I''d ever heard anything good about. I have one very picky cat that didn''t really like wet food and one cat that likes wet food, but only when it''s not mush.

Very few brands fall into the "healthy but not mush" category. That''s when I found Weruva. They seem to be a very good brand from what I can tell and all of the shops I''ve been to had nothing but good things to say about them. When I went in today to buy the usual mix of Weruva wet foods, I noticed they have started making a slightly less expensive brand called B.F.F. or Best Feline Friend. It seemed like they had good flavor options, so I picked up a few cans to see what the kitties would think and they went CRAZY for it. The cost difference is only something like 20 cents per can, but I can''t believe how much better they like it. They were both licking their bowls clean!

The only differences I can find nutrionally are slightly (0.3%) more fat in the new one, 0.8% less fiber, and 1% more moisture. I don''t know enough about cat nutrition to know if these matter. They are both 12% crude protein.

Anyone else tried it or care to shed some light about whether these differences matter or anything else I should be looking for?

No, but I''m interested in seeing if my kitties like the stuff!

I''m having dry food issues. Need a new dry. Gonna try the Instinct Dry Amber recommended.

The one thing I noticed about the BFF food is that it''s all tuna-based (along with some other flavor). Too much fish isn''t supposed to be good for kitties, so I probably wouldn''t feed it to my little guy every day. I might try it as part of his rotation, though! And hopefully they''ll come out with some non-fishy flavors in the future.

They actually had a statement about that at my store from Weruva about how they choose tuna that don''t live as long and are smaller, therefore having less time to accumulate mercury. My one girl cat really only likes fishy wet foods, but eats EVO dry food for the majority of her diet so I don''t worry too much about it.

I know this isn''t a ''fast'' answer, but I JUST, JUST got done reading this...and it''s absolutely eye-opening!! Maybe it''ll have some info for you? (I know there are links in the site to sites with canned food brands and comparisons). Just an fyi (in case you don''t want to read the entire article), apparently the values they list on the cans are maximum and minimum values. Which means, the actual contents in the can can vary significantly from what they list!! (Don''t ask me to explain this, I don''t 100% understand). Anyway...here''s the site and it''s just CRAZY informative!!! http://www.catinfo.org/
