Anyone use Moroccan oil on their hair?

I have very short blonde hair, one of the few that can wear a pixie and get away with it. I get lots of beauty magazines and I keep reading about how great Moroccan oil is for the hair. Yesterday at Walgreen's they had buy one, get one free. I had to try it. My hair was so soft and shiny and not at all weighed down. (It's spray in). I'm in love!
 
What does you pillowcase look like? :knockout:
Don't you wake up with oil all over your face?
 
It's very very light, no oily residue. It just makes your hair soft and shiny.
 
I've been using it for years. My hair is thermally reconditioned (Japanese straightening) because it's coarse, frizzy and wavy (nasty, really). It really help keep my hair well conditioned, since I use a lot of heat on it, with the blow dryer and flat iron combo.
 
Yes, I use it to help w/ my dry hair! Just a little goes a long way. I recommend their hydrating styling cream also!

Yenny--you can't tell your hair is thick/coarse at all from the Vegas GTG pics!
 
I never thought my hair was that bad, but I tried some one day and put it on before I blew dry my hair. I was amazed at how much smoother and less frizzy it became and lay pretty much flat after blow drying without needing to flat iron it. A little goes a long way and I try to use it every other or every few days now.
 
What brands are people using? I tried the Live Clean Argan Oil was very disappointed. Made my hair even more dry, if you can believe it.
 
I was using one from Julep (a monthly subscription box mostly based on nail polish but occasionally they have beauty products as well). My hair stylist at Kenneth's has one in the salon brand that is really nice. I recently picked one up in the Organix brand (can find it at Walgreens or any grocery store) but haven't tried that one yet...will report back when I do!
 
I LOVE it! My hair isn't frizzy with it & has good body -- behaves itself fairly well for the 1st time in my life. I get it from my hairdresser -- in a pump bottle, no brand except for an orange M on the label, made in Israel, it says. She told me no need for conditioner or hair spray -- true! It's expensive, but less than a dime-sized bit is enough.

I got the Organix spray at Walgreens. bOGO this week.
 
My daughter has very dry skin, hair, and scalp due to a thyroid condition. This results in dry patches and considerble dandruff. She had a treatment done at the hairdresser last weekend and her hair is so soft and the dry patches on her scalp are gone. And so is the embarrassing dandruff.
 
I am so curious and have never heard of "Moroccan Oil" until now. Now I can't wait to try it and see what it does!
 
I use a spray version too, that I buy at Sally's. I spray my hair brush and run the brush through my hair before I use the curling iron for body. My shampoo, by DermOrganic has it too. Seems like it's the new in thing these days. It does work well for me .
 
I've tried it but didn't feel it did anything for my hair. Seems like it's best on dry and course hair and my hair has plenty of natural oils already.
 
I love Moroccan Oil! I have been using it for about 4 yrs. My salon heavily promotes the original brand and uses it in house.
I use the shampoo, conditioner, oil and thermal heat protection spray. Expensive but my hair is so shiny and looks very healthy.

In the oil I have used the Organix brand and didn't notice a difference in outcome. I have yet to try a shampoo or conditioner besides the original.
 
I have used the name brand, but not the cheaper, drug store versions and while it was fine, I did not feel that it was worth the price. When it comes to beauty oils, I prefer purchasing pure, organic oils as opposed to products that typically contain long lists of ingredients (and the products don't actually contain much of the oil itself).
 
It seems that all of the Moroccan oil products mentioned so far have a silicone ingredient in them. Do you find that you have rebound dryness?
 
^Yes, they al contain silicones (which is not necessarily a bad thing - I don't mind a certain amount of silicones in certain products), which is why I said that I prefer to purchase pure, organic oils as opposed to products that may contain little of the actual oil itself.

Moroccan oil's term got branded by the Moroccan Oil company. Jerks. Their oil isn't even 100% oil. It has such a little percentage! Most of that softness you're all feeling is the silicone that they have in their product--- the same silicone that FEELS right but actually damages your hair.

The actual oil is called argan oil. You can purchase it in 100% form from many suppliers, including Josie Moran. 100% argan oil is pricy. I buy mine from Amazon. Make sure it says 100% organic argan oil. Even some other brands jumped on Morrocan Oil's crappy ethics, and did the same thing by providing a product with low % of true argan oil, and mostly a bunch of silicones.

I thought the same thing because I have pretty oily hair but I think it really helped!

Ooooh...didn't know that! Will have to check my bottles now...my Julep one says organic Argania spinoisa (argan) oil. yay!

Just ordered the Josie Moran Aragan Oil from Amazon.com. Anything to try and tame this mess of mine! and now that the humidity is kicking in...my hair is such a frizz ball mess, I'm tempted to get the dog clippers out and just buzz it off!!

Excited to see if this is the magic bullet for my dry frizzy hair!!
 
I use the Josie Maran argan oil as my facial moisturizer. It's absolutely incredible. My hair is short and therefore doesn't generally get attacked by styling products or heat treatment, so I find it's best when left to its own devices. But I can't say enough good things about the JM argan oil on my skin, so for those of you with hair that needs it, I'm sure it'll be amazing!!!

That sounds interesting. I don't use those things usually because it's all silicone, with just a drop of Argan Oil. Silicone is sometihng I avoid bec it just shellacs and suffocates my hair. I buy the real Argan Oil--Josie Maran--and use that on it's own, or if nothing else mix my own with mostly argan oil and a little of the silicone heavy serums.
 
I picked up a bottle of 100% Argan Oil on Friday and threw out my Live Clean Argan Oil bottle. Read the ingredients on the Live Clean bottle, it's a loooong list!

I've tried the 100% Argan Oil twice so far and it's a HUGE improvement. I'm very pleased so far. The first time I used a little bit too much but my hair still looked nice but felt a bit heavy. The second time (4-5 drops) is pretty much perfect. My hair is less fly-away and smoother, yay! And it turns out that the 100% oil can be used as a moisturizer for hands/cuticles etc.
 
I use it and I LOVE it too!!!

I'm glad PS RT was good for something ;)) Yes, use very few drops. I usually do a small puddle in the palm of my hand, rub them together, then slowly touch random parts of my hair, focusing on finger-brushing through my ends. That way, my hair gets nourished and my hands and cuticles get nourished--- all at the same time!
 
The organics line has something called macadamia oil which is absolutely outta this world and smells AMAZING.
