I'm looking for a stone to fit in this setting. The original setting held a stone that measured: 9.42 x 8.06 x 5.57mm. I don't know how much wiggle room there is (i.e. would a 10mmx8mmx6mm be fine?)....I'm looking to spend as little as possible, as my goal is to sell this setting. It's been on JBEG for a while and I think it may have a better chance of selling as a complete ring.

Here's a photo of the setting.

Thanks (in advance!) for your help!

YF,
Can you please narrow down to a particular gem family or at least colour and/or budget?

It sounds like, if Yenny's intention is to sell it, that maybe she is wanting something durable and popular (color and material wise) to help sell the mounting?

Honestly I'd probably just sell the setting on its own. I know as a buyer I'm more interested in settings alone so I can put whatever stones I want into them.

Ah...got it now. Yes, I concur that it's probably better to sell an empty setting instead of going through the hassle and expense of putting in another stone, which allows the buyer to put whatever they want into it later.

Yennyfire, since that is a very lovely, very high-end setting, and you understandably want to not lose too much money on it, I think you have a better chance of selling it without a colored stone in it. The problem is that it is a non-calibrated size, which means finding a good quality colored stone that will fit in it is going to be frustrating, and, in that size, probably expensive.
