The new season started last week I believe (Tuesday). I finally saw the episode this afternoon.

This episode featured two couples, one in NC and one in NYC. The one in NC was cute (quirky bride/quirky wedding planner).

However....the NYC couple was VERY interesting. Apparently the groom bounced checks to vendors all over Manhattan and the wedding planner ended up putting $20K of the wedding expenses on her company credit card. If that wasn't enough, the wedding planner then had to ask the bride's parents for more $$$ because of the groom's bounced checks. And then the groom showed up late...like REALLY late to the wedding. He was supposed to be at the wedding site @ 1pm, he showed up at 5pm!!! The wedding was supposed to begin at 5.

The bride knew nothing of all the behind the scenes financial and other drama, but her parents looked like they wanted to do some damage to the groom.

What do people think of this? Especially you ladies that are getting married soon?

ETA: The show is called Whose Wedding Is It Anyway? I forgot to put that in the subject line.

Yes I did see that! I felt soo sorry for that poor woman! He was supposed to be there at noon adn he didnt show up until 5:10, he was late to his own wedding. I cannot belive he didnt have the money for the wedding, I mean hey if you cannot afford a big wedding, have a small one or wait and save. Bouncing checks is a huge no no.

He didnt even tell her that he wasnt paying the vendors, she had to find out from them

. He seemed angry that he was expected to pay the money back, not remorseful that he left his wedding planner with over 20 thousand of his debt. She must be soo humuliated when she sees how much of a wanker her new husband is.

The groom was downright indignant about signing a promissory note! His reaction was so uncalled for. HAd it not been for the wedding planner basically bailing him out, there would have been no wedding at all! I wonder how often wedding planners have to actually pay for the clients mishaps?

What I thought was great was that the planner did not ruin the bride''s day and shielded her from the nonsense. HOWEVER...once the show aired, I am sure she was totally embarassed!

Yeah, I saw that! I couldn''t believe what a slime bag he seemed to be!! And the wedding planner - talk about going above and beyond!! I agree, if I were the bride I would be so embarrassed to see that episode, especially after I''m already married to him

Is this show real or just for entertainment. I don''t know anyone planner or not who would shell out their own cash for someone they work for. What vendors would even show let alone continue to deal with people who have bounced checks.

Sounds like made for tv storyline. Not a real situation. If it is real she was one lucky lady if you consider marrying a loser lucky. I would have wanted to know what was going on personally so I could call of the wedding.

Yeah I saw it the other night also and I could not believe what a careless jerk he was. What I found almost as intriguing was how ridiculously emotional the bride was. I have never been married and can understand that a bride''s wedding is probably really emotional but she seemed to overemphasize things (her pitching a fit when she was trying on her dress). I thought the ceremony site was really unique (way way pricey) with the candles and all. It seemed really intimate! I almost cringed when the wedding planner went and asked the parents for some $$$ to help cover the expenses. I thought it was really cool how the planner kept everything a secret from the bride (she really would have had a nervous breakdown if she had truly known what had been going on) because she didn''t want to ruin her day. On the other hand, when the bride actually sees the show imagine her shock or embarrassment!!!! Did any of you see the episode tonight where the Armenian couple in LA got married at the Kodak Theatre? They had 450 people attending (what a huge number of ppl) and I think it was like $15,000 to rent out that venue for their wedding, not counting all of the lavish floral work they had. It was amazing all of the work that went into that wedding.

Girls-Best-Friend: This show is "reality" TV. The show follows wedding planners and documents all that they go through behind the scenes when they are doing their thing. It's really very interesting to get the wedding planner's perspective.

Headerlyn: I saw the episode with the Armenian couple as well. That was a "show" as well as being a wedding. But I thought it went well and having the reception at the Kodak theater was really cool!!

I missed the beginning where the bride with the deadbeat husband got emotional trying on the wedding dress. What was that about??? I thought trying on the dress was supposed to be one of the highlights????

People were trying to figure out if/where her dress needed to be altered and she had a fit becuase "I want my mommy"....yikes.
