You should give them a call. They will tell you if it''s eye clean or not.

I recently purchased the below diamond and I was curious.

Thanks.
Hi Gixxer.

Every SI diamond is different. Yours is eye-clean from 10" as per our working definition (on the site). It is an SI2 of course, so if you examine it from extremely close up it''s possible you may pick up the inclusion. We do record judgments on SIs to communicate to our clients. Did you ask your sales consultant?

I think VS2 and better are always eye clean (per GIA).

If you find an SI1 or SI2 that is eye-clean consider yourself fortunate.
Right?

No not all VS2 are eye clean. Can''t generalize here. Some yes and some no.

I second that all VS2s are NOT ALL CLEAN!
I would say that every VS1 that I''ve seen in person are clean but there may be some out there that aren''t.

Nothing is really guaranteed eye-clean, because it''s a subjective grading. I have seen an SI2 ACA that is not eye-clean, but others have been. It depends on the stone and the eyes looking at it!

Just curious as to why you would think all ACA diamonds are eye-clean, because they are branded?

Please note I said GIA''s version of VS2.

I intentionally omitted EGL and all the other labs with lower sandards.

So is this true, that a stone the GIA (or AGS) rated VS2 will always be eye clean to the naked eye viewing through the crown?

I cannot find it at the momement, but I could have sworn that the other night when I was on the WF website that I saw something saying that all the ACA''s were eye clean.

wow i have never heard that one before Mata...it just seems such an interesting question to ask.

Kenny, VS2 stones are not guranteed eye-clean no matter what lab.

sure they have a better chance of being eye-clean but what if the grader was having a loose day? or there is a black inclusion visible from the side? diamonds are graded for the most part top down. so from the side view it doesn''t mean that you are guaranteed an eyeclean stone.

Hey Mata,
When I was dealing w/ WF before I got my stone, I asked about that. I asked if ACA diamonds were guaranteed to be eye-clean. I was talking to Celina Vergas and she told me no, not all ACA diamonds are guaranteed to be eye-clean(please correct me if I''m wrong JohnQuixote!!!). And then she went on to say that eye-clean is subjective. But by WF standards, eye-clean is checked at 8cm and then additionally at 25cm(10 inches). Others may have different standards.

I hope that helps...

I know...I am trying to find it. The other night I coudl not sleep and I read everything (literally) on the WF web-site...I dont know why I also think it was in the knowledge section.

it all depends on the size of the stone. is there such thing as a eye clean 5ct SI1 stone?

Lil_Jay, that''s correct. Distance, eyesight, light conditions, etc. are all variables. We have a working baseline we use for eye-clean defined on our website. We make additional judgments as well (like the 8cm Celina discussed with you). Prior conversation on the subject can be found here.

DF brings up a good point about size and other posters have made salient comments.

I''m sorry ya''ll I have been re-reading (with glasses on and everything) and I cannot find it...I guess I must have been mistaken.

I am sorry.
