I thought the princess cut was the second most popular cut after the round. However, as I've been browsing engagement ring settings, there seems to be less for princess cuts. I know most settings can be made to fit any shape stone, but is this a sign of a decline in popularity of the princess cut? I've been looking at hand forged settings from Leon Mege, Victor Canera, and Steven Kirsch, and others and noticed there are hardly any princess cut rings, if any at all. Another PSer mentioned in a previous post that if I get a princess cut ring, in five years I may feel it is "dated".
Is the cushion, asscher, and radiant cut "in" and the princess cut is now dated??
I am asking because I originally wanted the princess cut, and am now second-guessing. I know many princess cuts are not cut well so people may think in general they are not as brilliant? But that could be the case with any shape diamond.. What are your thoughts about the Solasfera princess, ACA princess (whiteflash), or one that has AGS 000?
