Are Tacori Engagement Rings Setting Prices Negotiable?

I'm looking into getting a Tacori engagement setting for under $2000. I got my eyes on HT2198 with 18k white gold because it has the Tacori look and it's affordable. There are 2 local authorized dealers in my area and quite a few reputable online dealers. It seems like they are all offering the same catolog price.

Anyone here had sucess in negotiating the price down on Tacori settings? Are the authorized dealers even allowed to discount prices?

BTW, I'm a satisfied customer of James Allen with my 1.32 ct round diamond.

I went through this exact process recently.

All quotes I got were the exact same. And then I read somewhere that tacori and most designers do not allow the jewelers to discount.

I think you will be able to find jewelers that are willing to take a loss on the diamond since they get the profit of the band. Not sure how much though cuz they may have restrictions on that too.

@ malnik: You just gotta shop around. There are some authorized dealers that will sell below the MSRP (even if you do not purchase the diamond with them). However, you may have to purchase the ring from an authorized internet dealer as opposed to a B&M. Some people like having the relationshp with a B&M for ring maintenance purposes.

I'm going to buy from a B&M authorized dealer to avoid complication. I know basic things like resizing is not that simple when it comes to Tacori rings. From what I read on the web, authorized dealers are restricted to only sell at MSRP. They can possibly waive the mounting fee or percentage discount on cash buys and that's it. I got my eyes on the HT-2620 style. Pretty exciting.

We talked down the price for my Tacori setting....I say go for it.

In my experience, most everything is negotiable. It doesn't hurt to shop around and ASK. Maybe they'll even offer to pay the sales tax for you. Good Luck.
