Hi I'm a newbie and want to get my first emerald. I'm eyeing on two emerald pendants sold by a online seller. She doesn't have many feedback so I'm a bit concerned on the quality of stones.
The first one is a round 3ct verdant green oil-less emerald, with 0.52 carat diamonds. My main concern is that it comes with a GIL certificate, which I know is not the most authoritative lab. The price is $3,000. From pictures the emerald looks a bit cloudy to me and the seller explained that it's because it's oil-less so it is not as clear as those oiled emerald.
The second one is a pear-shaped 1 ct VVG emerald, insignificant oil treatment, with 0.28 ct diamonds. It comes with the even less authoritative GRC certificate. The price is $1,000.
I reckon their sizes don't look like there is 2 ct difference between them. Due to my lack of expertise I cannot quite assess if these pendants are up to their price. Would appreciate much if experts here could shed some light. Many thanks!
