Well, the mystery is solved. here''s the scoop on that poor animal:

Origins: Sam, the above-pictured canine, is a 14-year-old pedigreed Chinese crested owned by Susie Lockheed of Santa Barbara, California. In June 2005, Sam won the "World''s Ugliest Dog" title at the Sonoma-Marin Fair contest for the third consecutive year.
The Associated Press described Sam thusly:
The tiny dog has no hair, if you don''t count the yellowish-white tuft erupting from his head. His wrinkled brown skin is covered with splotches, a line of warts marches down his snout, his blind eyes are an alien, milky white, and a fleshy flap of skin hangs from his withered neck. And then there are the Austin Powers teeth that jut at odd angles.
He''s so ugly that even the judges recoiled when he was placed on the judging table . . .
Unfortunately, Sam is suffering from a number of age-related ailments (congestive heart failure, lung and kidney problems) and will probably make no more public appearances, so he may have to cede his "World''s Ugliest Dog" crown in next year''s competition.

I read that the owner loved that dog like crazy.
As he aged and got more fugly people would stop and stare.
She would pick him up and give him a big smooch and everyone said, "Ewwwwwwwwww"

I have read that his momma loves him to death so that's good. But why enter it in the Ugliest Dog contest? Why even have one of those? Dumb.

I think "ugly dog contests" are sort of funny! Also bet that 99.9% of the owners adore their ''babies'' and are really are really into their dogs! Other wise, they wouldn''t bother to enter them....

I have a Chihuahua mix, she is a blast.

That dog that won the ''ugliest dog'' contest lives with a woman who thinks he is the BEE''S KNEES. I saw them on TV, she loves her doggie.

Here are the two girls I may adopt.
They are 6-month old sisters.

Their mom is a Shih Tzu who had a wild night out on the town.
She should have said ''No Gracias, Senor.'' when that fast-talking Chihuahua offered her tequila.

OMG they are TOO DARN CUTE!!! LOL on momma''s adventure though!!! that is too hilarious!

Well, it's official, the girls will be here in six days.

So, the doggie lady came over to inspect my house, the yard, and me yesterday.
Of course she approved.

She couldn't bring the girls because they would have had to cook in her car during a doctor appointment.
I was really hoping for more touch time.

So this weekend I have to roll down vinyl flooring in the kitchen for the accidents.
And I have to fix the fence in the back yard and install a doggie door.

Next question: NAMES?

I want names that roll off the tongue when said together, like Jack and Jill.
But I won't name a girl Jack.
Being Chihuahua and Shih Tzu something touching on the Mexican and Chinese heritage would be fun.
(Political Correctness be dammed.)

Yin and Yang

Lotus and Limon

Salt and Pepper

Chop and Sticks

Rita and Taco (Rita would be short for Margarita)

Corona and Chips

Carmen and Chiantu (Rivers in the state of Chihuahua Mexico)

Here are some names of Chinese cities that I like the sound of:

Canton
Pingyi
Luda
Hotan
Kashi
Biru
Bo Hai

How about Mason and Hamlin?
This is the name of the company that made my piano.

Personally I like Salsa and Chips; Lemon and Lime out of what you put down, but what about actual names like Maria and Lucia or some other name combo? Also something easy for others to remember both of them.

One of my neighbors has two pugs and their names are Sasha and Lula from a movie they saw where they liked the names. I love it.

Not into any of the real food names like Taco or any drinks names, I''m soo not into naming dogs for alcohol! I tend to like actual real names for dogs rather than tangible items.
