I personally would have less than zero interest in creating and maintaining a site like LT, and I'm honestly surprised the original maintainer(s) kept it going for as long as he/she/they did.
The list of complaints is endless.
all in all it must have been an expensive and unappreciated PITA.
Maybe it needs to not be anonymous so there’s more acceptance of minor inconveniences with a no charge to use site. Less complaining about LT administration.
So. For those of you who had an LT account and had listings, you can still access cached pages. Just google "Loupetroop (your user name)" and your items will pop up under cached. (3 dots to the right, click cache) The individual listing links on that page won't work, but it contains info to get to the page that you can link here. Since I don't remember any of the titles, I had to hunt for them. To get to the contents of a page, once you have a listing title, search "loupetroop (your user name) (a few words in the title)", and that listing will pop up under cached. You can then link it here like your old LT links, assuming you added a way for people to contact you in the description. Hope that helps people who want to save their old listings, having to retype everything sucks!
Mine is here for example, snapshot from 2/8, so fairly recent: Fortekitty's LT listing
Until these recent threads I didn’t think the host was a mysterious anonymous he/she/they.
maybe it changed hands from past years discussions. :shrug:

Maybe also a ‘LT 411’ sticky thread explaining what goes on behind the curtain and the constraints of keeping a cohesive free to us site up. More patience and gratitude for it.
if not - someone else offered to start one.
@Redwoods-hiker-girl
what do you need from helpers to make it happen? Maybe if it’s more generally understood of what it entails - it’ll be a better experience for all involved.
Redwoods if you do wind up hosting a site - please consider posting about setting it up here on PS, and requesting at least some small charge for listing pieces! Even something small, to help offset your costs and to keep those who use it aware of your efforts and invested in helping out where they can!@Rfisher -- I can make it happen. More details to come.
Agree. If you do end up hosting something, I think most users would pay a flat fee per listing or per quarter to use the site.
