I was wondering if you wore (will wear) a veil, or simply had a formal hair-do at your wedding ceremony? Why so, other than the "looks better" reason? Thanks!

PLEASE POST PICS IF YOU WOULD!!! THANKS!!!

Absolutely a hair bride.

Dunno, I really just don''t care for veils.

I''m planning to wear my hair half-up/down, with a blingy headpiece that can be seen from the front. I had my hair trial a couple of weeks ago, and loved how it turned out. The stylist''s parting words were "don''t cut it!" My hair will be my veil!

I was a "hair bride!" I wore a tiara, albeit smaller, and an updo. I had an outdoor ceremony. I tried on veils in front of my mother, and she said " you are just not a ''veil'' person!" I agreed. I don''t have anything against veils, it just wasn''t for me, and didn''t suit me. Instead, I chose to wear a tiara, a chapel length, detachable train, and earrings, and that was quite enough!

Hair person too! Actually, my sister is making me a headpiece that will have ribbons streaming down the back with sea shells in it. (I can''t wait til she is done making it!) Being an outdoor wedding, I didn''t want to mess with a veil in case of wind. Plus it is going to be warm where we get married, so I didn''t want the additional fabric annoying me!

I was definitely a veil bride! I wore mine all day, from getting my hair done just after lunch until we were in the car on the way to the hotel after midnight. I even wore it around the apt a couple times before the wedding, only to fear my kitty cats would tear a hole in it attacking the flowy material and put it away in a panic!! When else do you get to wear a veil??? I loved how flowy mine was and how it matched my gown. And come on, hair doesn''t do this:

I was adamant about not having a veil .... till I tried on one! For me, it just completes the look of being a bride. As JCJD says, when else in your life will you ever wear one?

SO I'm a converted veil bride -- but for the ceremony and a few photos and that's it. Then the veil is off and I'm tucking a pretty white flower into my hair for the rest of the night

Hm, it wouldn''t let me attach the photo last time. Here it is:

i''ll be a veil bride. like others have said it just completes the look and makes me feel like a bride. i am going to have a one tier cathedral length one- plain with a serged edge. i am going to pick it out this weekend!!!

I think I''m going to be a veil bride. It just seems to complete the look, and when else do you get to wear a veil?

JCJD - I love that photo!

I was a veil bride.

like others have said, putting on the veil, above everything else, just made me feel like a bride. and a pretty bride. i was going for a classic look. my dress was super simple and the veil had some very delicate lace details that i fell in love with. it was fingertip length.

i''m not sure what i''m doing with my dress, but i''m definately saving my veil.

Hiar, no veil, I don''t like them and neither does FI. My hair is getting pulled up in a soft bun, sort of, with lots of my waves/curls showing and some crystal pins.

I may just get one of those clip-in to hairdo type veils, but I think I''m going to end up wearing my hair down, so I''m not really sure...

I was sooooo not imagining a veil (or a tiara) for myself, but when I mentioned that to both my fiance and my mom they FLIPPED OUT. So I tried on a few veils and fell in love with a TWELVE HUNDRED DOLLAR mantilla. So, yeah, not getting THAT one, but going to try to find a cheaper version.

And I am now converted, I really did just feel more bride-y with the veil on! But I doubt I''ll wear it for too long after the ceremony itself...

I''m going to be a veil bride. I didn''t really care either way, but mom agrees that it completes the look and makes you look like a bride. I just got a very simple one-layer elbow-length veil that I''m tucking under my updo. It will come off for the reception. My updo will have a few scattered crystal hairpins, so I''ll still have some bling sans veil.

I really thought I would be a veil bride.

I tried it on and at first I really liked it. Then I changed my dress and really I think I should have been a hair bride from the start. It just fit perfectly with the setting, the flowers, the dress and me.

My stylist was exceptional. She did my half up do exactly how I imagined it. It couldn''t have been more perfect.

It couldn''t have been more perfect.
That''s certainly true!

You are still my all time favorite no-veil bride! Your hair was sooooooooooooo perfect!!!

jorman your hair is my inspiration when your pro pics were posted saved that exact pic so I could show my stylist lol i love your hair you look like an angel!

I haven't decided yet. If I do wear a veil, the only kind I want is a plain (no ribbon edge/rhinestone/detail whatsoever) chapel length veil. Whenever I've gone into a boutique to try wedding dresses on, the consultants always plunk a veil on my head...and they've always been gag-worthy.

I'm also not a big fan of the story behind the veil, so if I wear one, I won't put it over my face. It'll be there because I think it's pretty and bridal, but not in the "unveiling" sense.

I am a veil bride - it does complete the whole feel and look for me. It will probably be elbow length or a little shorter, with a blusher. I am trying to decide on a tiara or a comb, because I do want some kind of pretty sparkling hair jewelry to wear. I really like the tiaras and combs that have a bit of a vintage feel to them, like the one pictured here from bridalpeople.com. I am debating the hair up or hair down deal too. It''s going to be late July so it will be hot and I like up or half up, but FI has always said how much he loves my hair down.

I''m leaning to hair not veil. My hair is so pretty and long that it seems a shame. Besides a veil seems so formal, and we''re not going to have a very big wedding.

Jorman, I was waffling back and forth on whether to grow my hair out until I saw your wedding pictures. My hair''s about the length of that one strand on your shoulder, and I''d love for it to be the length of yours!

(It''s a similar texture.) Now I''m growing it out for sure. (Is that creepy?)

Thanks Albicocca! I didn''t really no what to expect since I didn''t do a trial. But it was great, nonetheless!

Garysbride- you are so sweet! You copy me all you want! I don''t care! She parted my hair in a halo method and applied a lot of product. Then for the curls she actually used a skinny flat iron. It made the curls last longer. When she did the updo, she actually layered the hair by tying little knots. It made the curls hang just right and she held them in place with loads of bobby pins. Then she stuck the wired orchids in. OUCH! I think I had about 100 bobby pins in my hair, but I didn''t care one bit!

Equestrienne- I love that tiara!

Blenheim- It''s not creepy at all. You have to do what you have to do to make your day perfect! I will say that I only get my hair trimmed about once every 6 months and I only highlight it about that often too. That helps is grow faster- in my opinion. I also enjoy lots of dairy, fresh veggies and BEEF! And I try to wash it every other day. I have had so many people ask me if I have extensions- so I must be doing something right. Not quite sure what that is exactly.

Thanks San Diego Lady! I love all these compliments. You are all making my long Wednesday so happy!
Thanks!

jorman, your hair was gorgeous! I have asian hair and never in a million years would the curls stay in. Bummer!

My dress is very ornate so probably no veil. If for some reason I do decide to, it would only be the birdcage style - but leaning towards not because of the fear of the whole turkey packaging thing.

Well, seeing as my wedding is going to be in about three years, by that time, I will have fingertip-length hair! It''s currently down to my watch or so.

My hair is so long and so much a part of me, and my FF loves it so much, I can''t imagine not having my ''veil'' of hair. I usually wear it up, so it will be nice to show it off at my wedding.

I love the idea of walking down the aisle and hearing people exclaim over my hair as I pass.

Veils are pretty, but it''s hair all the way for me!

I put my veil in myself right before the ceremony then took it out for the reception. I had a white faux gardenia in my hair the whole time. I got a lot of compliments on the flower and that was more my personality, but having the veil for the ceremony made me feel more bridal- besides when else would I ever get to wear a veil again :)

VEIL VEIL VEIL!!! I wore my veil all day too.. bustled it.. (which some of my guests thought was like a magic trick.. lol.. One girl was like.. HOW DID IT GET SHORTER? Did you get a new veil?)

Veil Down...

Have I mentioned I love my veil? And I should since we paid entirely too much for it!

My wife had formal hair done and wore a tiara with veil attached to it.
