I would like to share my new ring, courtesy of the dream team that is @Rhino of Distinctive Gems and David Klass. I knew I wanted an Art Deco-inspired ring. Initially, I ordered an August Vintage emerald-cut lab stone but a few days later, saw Rhino’s Instagram post about his new Asscher cut. I was immediately smitten and asked if we could change my order, which Rhino graciously agreed to (even though there was a slight chance his team may have already started on the emerald cut). The Asscher is a 1.29, F, VVS2 lab-created diamond. You can see it in all its glory here: https://api1.v360.in/viewer/265_LGAVASS129FVVS2

The stone was sent to David Klass who also made a lab diamond band. (I wanted a tiny gap between the two.) I adore target rings and thought a bezeled ring would be an easy-to-wear style, eliminating the nagging worry about whether I’ve dinged it. The ring is set low (only 4.95 mm high) and the craftsmanship is just exquisite (such fine milgrain and beautiful engraving!). The side stones are carre cut lab diamonds and the sapphires are earth-mined. I am over the moon!

In terms of process, both vendors were a joy to work with. Everything was just so easy. After David finalized the CADs, he offered to send me models of the rings. I didn’t expect this step and it was wonderful as it allowed me to confirm that I loved the designs. (My kids immediately guessed they had been produced by a 3D printer, which they found very cool.)

I am so grateful for the artistry of these two vendors! 2EC55BDE-D354-416C-BF93-82C053694620.jpeg75A44416-9EC2-4DDD-9830-9E21539D9574.jpeg9657239D-952C-4A5A-B37E-1A6EC2FE94BB.jpeg

I was so excited to read Art Deco and Asscher together in the headline, that when I had to scroll down to the THIRD picture, I was on the edge of my seat.

It's beautiful! You and David got the proportions down perfectly and then that touch of engraving... I'm speechless.

Be still my heart! That is stunning! I adore target rings and that one is so well executed. The asscher is absolutely lovely too- that cut really makes the diamond standout.
congrats on a beautiful piece ❤️

Oh wow, that is soooooo pretty. I love target rings and that asscher is to die for!

Absolutely stunning. Love target rings AND asscher. Together?! BLISS!

Fabulous!! :kiss2:

It is amazing!!! Never liked halos (on a round stone), or colored gems much (hard to coordinate), but your sapphires are the perfect shade of blue to match any outfit, like perfect pair of blue jeans!

What a beautiful ring! Congratulations!

Wowee!!! Both are stunning!

All of it is flawless. Just stunning ❤️

Oh, this is perfection. Wear it in good health!

Stunning!!!

It’s a heirloom piece, congratulations. It’s a stunner and David nailed the execution of your vision.

Dream team indeed. Anytime you put those two together, it’s bound to result in one gorgeous piece. Your ring is stunning! I love how bright your asscher is and all those perfect little details on your setting.:kiss2:

I love everything about this ring, to me it is spectacular yet conservative.

This is everything I’ve ever dreamed of! The execution of the diamond and the setting is impeccable. If you don’t mind, and only if you’re comfortable, would you mind sharing a ballpark price for the Asscher? I’ve looked at Jon’s webpage but don’t really know how much more to expect after the initial deposit for a lab diamond. I am definitely interested in his new Asschers and am getting more and more convinced!

I told Jon my total budget for the diamond ($3k) and that determined its size. It was very straight-forward. Reach out to him. I think the prices he lists on his site are very close to — if they aren’t indeed the actual — final prices. (The language about the deposits is a bit confusing.)

I love the stone very much but one thing to note is that, as @lovedogs has mentioned, the cut behaves differently than other cuts. It is quieter and emits gorgeous flashes of light rather than constant sparkle. Also, I haven’t worn it for very long but imagine I’ll need to keep it quite clean. Just something to be aware of. That said, I think it’s beautiful and it gives me so much pleasure to look at it!

Same thing happened to me. Budget determined size, which I was fine with :)

Beautiful! The asscher and setting are gorgeous!
