Asscher Cut Diamond

Hi everyone I'm new to Pricescope. I have been trying to learn what I can from the forums. You are all so knowlegeable

I recently contacted Whiteflash, as they seem to be very reputable and highly recommended here. I requested to have an asscher cut brought in for further examination. I can really use your help and input on this. It's a .52 that I'm thinking of putting in a pendant. Thank you all so much! And thank you to Whiteflash for being so helpful in all this!

Asschers face up small for their carat weight compare to many other cuts.

F VVS2 is very expensive and though I love high color and clarity I'd go down to around I VS2 to get more size for the same budget.
The 3D hall of mirrors effect it a major feature of the asscher cut but, regardless of your age or eyesight, it is less noticeable with smaller asschers.

More body color in a pendant will not be as noticeable as with a ring, and the clarity threshold I'd shoot for is eye clean.
Even though asschers reveal inclusions more than most other cuts you might even find an SI1 that's eye clean.

I agree. That's a decent asscher. But I would try to eek out as much size as I could and try for larger but H-I VS2 if possible. I would at least shoot for 5mm square.

Thank you all so much for your help! I really had my heart set on this one, even though I knew it would face up smaller(than say a round in the same size), but it's so hard when you can't see them in person.

I will check their site since and see if there is any other ones I may be interested in. I really wasn't looking for a large pendant, but maybe I can get something a little bigger, like you said. The price is little over $1,300 for this particular stone.

You really won't see the step differences in real life. But for the record, I don't think they are, I think that's just the optical illusion making two steps look like one big one.

I didn't see anything larger in budget anywhere when I looked for you. If you like it, then buy it.

Awww, thank you so much for looking Gypsy! I will keep my eyes open this weekend, and make a decision. What do you think of the ASET? I'm just trying to learn more as I go. Boy, I wish I had Pricescope over 15 years ago when I got engaged!

It's a bright stone. I think it will look great as a pendant. I'm just afraid you will be unhappy with the size.

Thanks so much, Gypsy! I understand where you are coming from. Originally I was looking at the DBTY from Tiffany & Co, but to get even a .14 set in platinum would cost over $1,100. That's what started my search for a nice, dainty necklace that was a bit bigger for the price. And the asscher is a diamond that has always been on my mind. Of course, I wouldn't set this in a bezel like the DBTY!
