First off, much appreciation to eveyone in the Pricescope community for your thoughts, advice, and insightful comments. I can''t imagine conducting my e-ring search without your input. Secondly, to Lesley, Brian, and everyone else at Whiteflash, thank you for making what could have been a tricky process worry-free and easy.
Quick recap--after months of research and lurking on Pricescope, I decided in early February to start my diamond search in earnest. Unbelievably, I found a great stone almost off the bat, and it was the first and only stone I called in to Whiteflash for their consideration. Buoyed by the positive response from Brian, and Lesley, I purchased the stone on Valentine''s Day, received it the next day, and, after a consultation with my local jeweler and final determination of which setting to use, sent the stone to NYC to be set by Michael Bondanza. The setting process took a month, which seemed like an eternity.
Got the ring last Monday (3/14). Held onto it at my office all week long, periodically sneaking looks. That Friday was the big day, so the week dragged forever of course. My then-GF and I took off Friday on a quick weekend trip to a charming little town in Maryland on the eastern side of the Chesapeake Bay. She had initially suggested the trip as part of my birthday, so I figured I could use it for my purposes without her being any wiser. Long story short, after dragging her around the town''s rather blah waterfront, fruitlessly searching for the ideal spot to propose, we went back to our lovely room at a local B&B. Per my instructions, the innkeeper had chilled a bottle of champagne for us, and spread rose petals around the room and jacuzzi. She was stunned, and I seized the advantage, luckily remembering even to kneel at the right moment.
She loved the ring, and we are both incredibly thrilled to be engaged. Thanks again for your help in this process.
Oh yeah, specifics--1.11 E VS2 "Asscher" 69 depth, 60 table, Ex/Ex Symmetry and Polish, Faint flourescence. Ring is Bondanza Madison collection (platinum) with two .15 tapered baguettes on each side. Ring size is 5.
Pardon the poor photography. Naturally pics don''t do it justice.
