Assistance Needed - Engagement Band

Hello Experts...

Your assistance would be greatly appreciated. Could anybody kindly take a look at the engagement ring mount I am interested in along with the details below and let me know how much (approximately) a ring like this would cost?

The engagement band and wedding band have approximately 1.25 carats of diamonds (that range from G to H colour and VS2 to SI1 clarity). The band is made of 18 karat white gold...

That really depends on who the vendor is. For example, you could get something comparable to this through LOGR on Ebay for about $1000. If you went somewhere like Tiffany's, it would be a lot more because you are paying premium price for a diamond standard and a major name. So there are many factors to consider.

I'd recommend Whiteflash for this type of setting.

Thanks for your input? Does the quality appear to be comparable to LOGR rings? I took a look at the two and it ''appears'' from my non expert point of view, the ring i am looking at is higher quality (and also twice the price!)...

The point is, no one can tell you an approximate cost without knowing where the mount is coming from. I can''t tell from that picture what it''s worth or what kind of quality it is. I''m sure it''s high quality but if we''re talking vendors I would need info to give you a price.

it''s a beautiful setting! In all honesty, if you''re paying $2000 for it, that could be a bit high IMO, especially if it''s not a branded setting.

gorgeous setting! It is hard to say how much it would cost. I think you would get more answers if you posted the cost, then we could tell you if it is too much or not.

So i have been quoted $2400 for this mount. This would include taking out the diamond from its current mount and putting it on to this one. It does seem a little high to me however the jeweler (who is in St. Marteen) is advising that this is higher quality materials that are not ''commercial grade''.

The problem i have (i think) is that most jewelers will not take the diamond out of somebody elses mount and put it into the one i buy from them. So i am a little stuck!

But i really like this band. Its unfortunate I do not know enough about jewellery to see if this is a good deal. The band does look quite complex which i would think adds to the valuation...

Any input?

I just had a similar setting in platinum with approx. 1/2 ctw diamonds quoted by Leon Mege for $4300. That did not include the stone. YIKES!

But you can''t compare a hand made platinum setting by Leon with 18 kt gold cast setting.

I agree the leon mege rings are of superior quality, however I do feel the band I am looking at is of good quality! I cant find anything at all on LOGR that even compares to the band...

So does 2400 sound reasonable?

If you are getting exactly what you want for $2400 then yes it's reasonable.
