Thanks to @HappyNewLife thread regarding reflections from phone/tablet cases when taking pics, I managed to take a few that more accurately depict my new K color diamond. I thought this might be helpful to share in case someone else is considering an ideal-cut K-color.
I only see body color on very rare occasion from the side because the fire/prismatic color is pretty intense even in the pavilion views (which I love and is why I wanted the open pavilion in my setting). Top down, all I see most of the time is fire, sparkle & bright white light return. It reflects a lot of my surrounding colors which is usually green because we have trees everywhere around our home.
All of these pics were taken indoors by a big window (outside of which is a huge green tree), with a white paper on the back of my iPad to prevent the dark gray reflecting in the diamond. No other enhancements were made to the pics except to crop them a bit. In spot lighting, it’s all sparkle, all the time. And I it!
Thank you! I am not color sensitive nor color-‘bothered’ either, and I am amazed at how white it faces when I am not near/under the trees that reflect all the green. It has *just* the right amount of body color/tint to my eyes to give it some depth and life ... I just love it! And I prefer the more substantial settings as well. I don’t like to feel as if I have to baby my rings to the point of barely wearing them.It is a beautiful stone and a beautiful setting. I would have never guessed it was a K color. I am not all that color sensitive, my stones are mostly I colored but your stone looks exceptionally bright and white in the photos. I also love the substanial setting. Delicate and fine is lovely but a more substantial settings always gives me heart flutters.
Thank you; I am enjoying it as well as some fab earrings that arrived a couple days ago!Goodness... I am still playing catch-up from last week and can’t believe I missed this reveal!! I love your new ring @the_mother_thing!!! The shank details are so eye-catching and the K stone (my fav color!) - simply superb.
Enjoy your fabulous ring!!
Happy to oblige!wow, it's so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great, now I will stalk WF for a K colored diamond I don't need
Can we see a handshot please?
Thank you so much! I really am quite fond of her, and feel bad that my OEC has been quite neglected lately.Wow, these are stunning photos. Your diamond ring is beautiful. I love seeing the profile like that- really beautiful. And wow, your diamond is a sparkly precision cut beauty! Stunning!
Thanks so much. I do love it and get tons of compliments on it when I’m out & about.Just stopping back to admire the rest of your pictures and video - never too many!! You have really captured it's beauty. Such a stunning ring!!
Is the OEC your original? Thanks so much. I do love it and get tons of compliments on it when I’m out & about.
I’ve moved my OEC soli to the daily-wear rotation now, though, as my anniversary approaches. I just love how rustic and perfectly imperfect it is and have really missed it.
