#JOTW At last, my ideal cut love has come along ... ❤️

Thanks to @HappyNewLife thread regarding reflections from phone/tablet cases when taking pics, I managed to take a few that more accurately depict my new K color diamond. I thought this might be helpful to share in case someone else is considering an ideal-cut K-color. :wavey:

I only see body color on very rare occasion from the side because the fire/prismatic color is pretty intense even in the pavilion views (which I love and is why I wanted the open pavilion in my setting). Top down, all I see most of the time is fire, sparkle & bright white light return. It reflects a lot of my surrounding colors which is usually green because we have trees everywhere around our home.

All of these pics were taken indoors by a big window (outside of which is a huge green tree), with a white paper on the back of my iPad to prevent the dark gray reflecting in the diamond. No other enhancements were made to the pics except to crop them a bit. In spot lighting, it’s all sparkle, all the time. And I ❤️ it!

Dazzling diamond and setting!!!

It is a beautiful stone and a beautiful setting. I would have never guessed it was a K color. I am not all that color sensitive, my stones are mostly I colored but your stone looks exceptionally bright and white in the photos. I also love the substanial setting. Delicate and fine is lovely but a more substantial settings always gives me heart flutters.

SO beautiful!!! Gorgeous diamond and amazing setting! What a joy it must be to wear this ring! :appl:

Beautiful stone and ring!!! I cannot tell it is a K at all!

Goodness... I am still playing catch-up from last week and can’t believe I missed this reveal!! I love your new ring @the_mother_thing!!! The shank details are so eye-catching and the K stone (my fav color!) - simply superb.:love::love:

Enjoy your fabulous ring!!

wow, it's so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great, now I will stalk WF for a K colored diamond I don't need ;)

Can we see a handshot please?

oops, never mind. Hello, page 1 ;)

Thanks so much @Starfacet @junebug17 & @CareBear

Thank you! I am not color sensitive nor color-‘bothered’ either, and I am amazed at how white it faces when I am not near/under the trees that reflect all the green. It has *just* the right amount of body color/tint to my eyes to give it some depth and life ... I just love it! And I prefer the more substantial settings as well. I don’t like to feel as if I have to baby my rings to the point of barely wearing them.

Thank you; I am enjoying it as well as some fab earrings that arrived a couple days ago! ;)2:whistle:

Probably would’ve been better had I cleaned my diamond first, but I was at the pool and I couldn’t help myself but to snap these pics of it reflecting all the surrounding colors. I really do love this ring so much! =)2

And thank you @psadmin for #JOTW ... I am honored! :wavey:

Thank you so much! I really am quite fond of her, and feel bad that my OEC has been quite neglected lately. :wavey:

Just gave her a proper cleaning (steam clean with the GemOro post-hot soapy soak) and had to give it a quick photo & video shoot ... last one for this thread, as I fear I may have gone a bit overboard with the pics & videos. :mrgreen2:

And just for gits & shiggles, should anyone find the OEC vs. MRB comparisons helpful, I thought I’d post a video & pics of mine since they were both just properly bathed, are close in size, and it’s not always easy (if someone doesn’t have both side by side to compare) to see the differences for people interested. Just pardon my dry scratchy hands - we did a TON of yard work yesterday, so my hands have taken a beating since I forgot my gloves. :blackeye:

The OEC (top) is a GIA M color, 1.47 ct, SI1, and measures 6.73 x 7.07 x 4.41 mm.
The MRB (bottom) is an AGS K color, 1.413 ct, VS1, and measures 7.175 x 4.44 mm.
Both settings are 18K UP-WG and size 7.25.

Thanks so much. I do love it and get tons of compliments on it when I’m out & about.

I’ve moved my OEC soli to the daily-wear rotation now, though, as my anniversary approaches. I just love how rustic and perfectly imperfect it is and have really missed it.

Is the OEC your original?

Wow! Beautiful ring!
