Lorelei- I am replacing this ring with a new engagement ring from Good Old Gold. Thanks to you and others - I purchased an Idealscope and here are some pics of the existing ring. I started a thread about 1 week ago about this. I hope you remember me. This is the first picture The center stone is a vs2, e color

Bumping for anyone who wants to jump in and give an opinion of current diamond- so I know what to look for when I go to GoodOldGold.

Hi Debi

Of course I remember you!! Well done with the images! Its hard to see that well but I can see what appears to be leakage in the existing diamond, showing as a darkish ring around the table, I can't see that clearly to give a definite opinion but thats what it looks like. I don't think you need to worry going to GOG, just explain to Jon you want a diamond with top optical performance and he will show you his best, look at his hand selected h&a stones as you will probably find these are the ones to look at.

Also- I have been trying to find two different settings. One for the 1.5 round- and one for the octavia asscher diamond. I am uncertain which one I will go with until I see them.

I was thinking with the octavia - I would get a simpler setting. Maybe, just a thin-medium band with small diamonds and get a matching wedding band. What do you think? I think that diamond would be amazing so I don''t want to distract from it.

Then for the round one- I am not sure if I want a halo - but definitely side diamonds on a thicker band - I don''t like solitaire looks with the round (I know I am crazy) and I don''t want it to look like a blob on my finger.

I have scoured this website looking at all the settings, and also at all of the designer settings. I like Tacori- but its over $4000 for the settings I like.

Do you have any suggestions? I have emailed Marie at GOG several times - but she hasn''t given me any information yet. I just don''t know what stock GOG has, or their pricing.

With the Octavia, personally I would let that be the star of the show so a simple band with melee stones and matching band would be perfect.

With GOG they have access to many more settings than you see on the website so tell Jon or Marie what you are looking for and see what they suggest. You could consider pear side stones with a round or traditional baguettes?

Which Tacori setting do you like? If you post it here we might be able to find something similar, MrsSalvo and Gypsy are settings wizards so they might be able to suggest some too.

They are both beautiful but I really like the second one, thats my favourite.

What I would do is telephone Marie to find this out, might be better than emailing if you haven''t had a response.
