I can't comment on those two as I haven't seen them in person, but check out the Canera European Round as well.

You are paying a premium for the fancy Madison Avenue kwiat/Leighton collab and from what I could tell no actual guarantee beyond a GIA Cert. I visited and saw them but would rather see an ASET and an AGS cert and then inspect it to know 100% what I’m getting from August Vintage.

Thank you so much for everyone's input! I am excited to say I just purchased this stone https://www.distinctivegem.com/coll...ct-n-vs1-august-vintage-european-cut-74457697 to see in person. It was within my budget and appears to be a clean stone at VS1. I really wanted a mined stone. The color is an N, but I am hoping in a gold setting it will look quite nice :D

That stone is gorgeous! The petals are perfect. And I think those old cuts look best with a Cape colored diamond. We can’t wait to see!!

Beauuutiful! Congrats, how exciting…the color looks like it would positively glow in gold! Do you happen to know if August Vintage has an upgrade policy, by the way?

Thank you so much :) I am looking forward to seeing it. Unfortunately they said they don't currently have an upgrade policy for the mined stones, only the lab created ones when I asked. They do allow a two weeks no questions asked return though.

Thank you for sharing that! I’ve been stalking some of the AV stones (also natural) and have been too shy to inquire about their policy. The cut looks spectacular and I expect to be even more tempted after seeing pictures of yours!

Thank you so much. :D I really appreciate it. I haven't seen a diamond this color in person so I am excited to see.

buttery crisp gorgeousness!!!!

None of the photos on the Fred Leighton website appear to have the optical symmetry I'd want from a newly cut antique-style diamond.

The one you chose from Jonathan looks fantastic

So cool to see these images for your particular stone! Thank you for sharing. Can’t wait to hear what you think when you meet it in person!

Thank you all. I love sharing the experience with everyone :)

Hey everyone! I got the diamond in this past week. I am excited about the stone. Pictures as promised below and I would love to hear any thoughts you have! :)

I am thinking about a setting now and what to get. I like the golden undertone the stone has but I also like how it appears closer to white in certain lighting too. It is a bit of a chameleon which I like a lot so far.

In terms of the setting, I don't know how a basket (or partial basket) would affect the optics (if at all). I also think a gold band would complement the color well but I am not 100% sure on that either or what karat of gold would be best. Any thoughts on the setting would also be super helpful! I would love to hear your personal experiences.

Thank you! :)
