Well Ctek, I just felt like I was being judged and attacked for planning the wedding before I was engaged.

All I planned was buying my dress and shoes, checked out some florists and contacted a photographer friend. So what if I wasn''t engaged yet but knew it was coming? I didn''t want to end up running out of time having a dress altered or find that a photographer wasn''t available. Since day one of our talking engagement we knew it would be before end of year so with his blessing I planned a few things.

It just so happened that the same week on another website I frequent I had asked some advice about talking to FI about finances and I got attacked there as well. FI and I had some rough times a few months ago and I had questioned everything but we worked on it, moved on and have become much stronger for it. They were bringing up the past and telling me I should question about whether I want to marry him.

Anyway, it got me really upset to have read all that stuff within a week so I decided to take a break from both websites for the past month or so, read some relationship books and just concentrated on me and FI and what we want for our life together.

Thank you for the compliment on my dress!!! I need to lose about 5 pounds for it to fit well but I''m soooooo ready to wear it!! I''ll post pics of course :)

I''m so sorry that you felt judged! I was pretty much all over BWW planning out my wedding before I was even engaged as well (until DH asked me to put a hold on it). Lots of us do it. What bad luck that you got attacked on the other site as well. I don''t see anythign wrong with pre-planning so long as your Fi is fine with it. I had been doing that and DH asked me to stop, so I did my best to honor his wishes. Glad you took some time for yourself and your FI. Seems now that it was a good choice!

I saw you two set a date and have picked out a place for your ceremony and celebration meal. That''s wonderful!

So I was browsing on the knot website, and under their "50 Romantic Ways to Propose" there was this idea:

"During your annual Halloween prep, challenge her to a pumpkin-carving contest and carve the words "Marry Me" in your pumpkin."

Similar to your proposal, katomm, so I thought I would share. But, IMO, yours is better than the suggested one, for sure.

Your ring is beautiful, and I love the fact that it has such deep meaning for you! What a sweet fiancee you have, to set up that surprise! Congrats!

I LOVE your very special ring!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh! Don''t let those folks get to you!!! There are plenty of great gals on BWW!! I, like you, started planning before I was/am officially engaged - heck, I''m still waiting for my ring to be done, and him to "officially" ask me, but we''ve got our date set...deposits on venues, wedding coordinators, dress bought, etc. Technically, I don''t "officially" consider myself engaged...and, frankly, I don''t care if people throw stones - I don''t live in a glass house...its pretty solid!

Also, don''t worry about the finances and stuff...there have been many threads on there about comingling...not comingling...etc...etc. People do lots of things. My BF and I are completely comingled and not even engaged (see above

) or married. So, again, let ''em throw stones...

Alll I''m trying to say is that you are not alone...and to NOT let a few snarky people get to you!!! Join us in BWW and have some fun!!!!

Thank you Rock :) I appreciate your sentiments. The wedding is 7 weeks away (OMFG!) so I wouldn''t be there long anyway. I''d rather just stay on the boards I like and be happy.
