These were taken with my Canon Powershot SX100IS in diffused natural light. (NM sunlight around noon through an opaque skylight.)

These were taken with the ever popular Nikon Coolpix S6000. Same lighting conditions.

For the record, neither camera shows the color I see with my eyes. Barry's is by far the best.

Also, these were taken with a gorillapod to stabilize the camera.

Oh the detail is amazing ~ Great photos!

I believe you about the color, I wonder how Barry does it?
It is so difficult to reproduce that awesome glow that can be seen with the eyes
but the camera can't capture ~ frustrating !
That must be one lovely purple sparkler

Thanks for taking all the pics Freke-I appreciate it! It's so pretty and you're right, Barry's is closest w/those flashes of color. You've gotten some great pictures tho so I'm glad the neon is behaving for Aunt Freke!

I can SEE the stone now. Thanks! Still, I wish the colour is more accurate because it doesn't come close to capturing the colour I see in Barry's picture. So it is pinker IRL?
