Barry's new drop/January 2014

I finally got my first gem direct from Barry - I had to stalk his site all day, lol. I got the purple/blue spinel, I will add it to my growing collection of blue/violet/purple spinels

I meant to thank those of you who commented for your kind posts, but I was called offline earlier...anyway, thank you for the kind words! To be honest I don't know what my actual goal is for these particular spinels. I just keep buying the ones I see that I like, and at some point I'll do something with them.

I hope to see more posts in here if anyone feels like chatting about their Barry pick ups

The nice thing is that four of the five (I'm counting the new one) are within a very close size range. They go from about 5.4mm to 5.8 mm. So if I get enough of them, I could do something neat. (And the slightly larger Barry blue spinel is 6.5 mm, if anyone was curious).

I don't know why I'm still so drawn to this color range, since I own several that are similarly colored; but each is just different enough that I enjoy them all. And the pricing is usually low-ish on this material, even when precision cut, which is helpful to me as they are affordable.

It is really! I don't think it ever arrived at my Country. It just says enroute for international shipping then nothing. Usually it would only need 2-3 days to arrive Canada

Hmm. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will show up - fingers crossed for you!! Shipping has been so slow here lately, I've had packages that should've arrived in a couple of days taking twice as long as normal. It's odd, like they're still playing catch up after the holidays or something. And in the past, I've had several packages bounce all over the country before finally arriving, MUCH later than anticipated. I really hope it shows up for you!

I really hope so! But kinda starting to think I'm just fooling myself. Because I bought two other stones from two vendors,a few days later then the purchase from Barry, and they both arrived Canada last week, and delivered today

I sure hope so too...keep us posted. Just the thought of losing a gem in the mail makes me feel sick to my stomach, I hope it turns up. There is definitely a chance, you really never know. Once I had a "lost" package turn up after a full month in transit with the post office - I thought for sure it was gone for good but it did finally come.
