Some Beryl ...

I don't know what's going on with the picture size....
Anyway....
Something hiding in the grass....

A bit of Morganite.....

So, they don't seem to be coming up crystal clear like I see them on my computer here at home,
but I am going to try this one of my little pear...
This was taken a-la-HereKittyKitty, but I played around with the camera setting a bit,
it's awfully "colorized" but in certain light this stone really does look this green
(you gotta believe me!!!!)

Another Beryl....

I am almost afraid to post pictures of this one since they are not going to look like
how I really see this stone with my own eyes, but oh well.... Just learning....

perched on a Gumball, the sun shining right through it.
This is not a "fine" Emerald, but I love it to pieces

Night, Y'all.

Beautiful stones... I especially like the pink/green effect... Nothing should prevent a stone from becoming a color-changer in your mind!

Very pretty stones.

Very nice. Especially like the beryl rough & your green pear -- and I DO believe you!

Great photos!! I like your photos better than mine now!! You're a quick learner with the camera.

Awesome pics; the colour jumps out, the clarity and details are amazing!

Ah, thanks crasru, marcy, JewelFreak, TL and Chrono....

I owe all my inspirations to you guys, you are encouraging and also wonderful instructors.
I appreciate the advice and encouragement.

I wish I could take a picture of a stone on a flower, dangling from a tree branch, the back of a ladybug, some seed pod, or the grass, but I'm not that brave!! :errrr:

I honestly don't know how some of you guys take such daring shots. The only way I can take a decent shot is if the stone is in a ring, or resting safely on the back of my hand.

Did you download the camera software to get it "colorized?" Not sure what you mean by "colorized," but I never download the camera software. I just download and use MS paint to crop. If you did use the software, what's it like?

TL, OMG, MS Paint !!!!

I read all your instructions on that other thread, then wasn't brave enough to try it myself !!!!
WHAT if I screw up my computer somehow?!?!?!
See, that is when I call a son, they are fearless on the computer!!!!
So I am going to try that in a few days, when I lure one of them over for a home-cooked meal !!!!!
They can set me up !

Anyway, no I tried my DH Canon Camera that I got him.
It has a function for changing your shots to things like "Fisheye" etc....
So I chose the one called "Vivid"....
It is supposed to make all the colors more.....vivid.
I feel like I cheated somewhat with that Emerald, but not really.
It is tiresome to take photos of the stones and then see a washed out color when you KNOW that
your stone really doesn't look like that.....
So anyway.

The Emerald pear really does look like that color in most lighting conditions, and in other
light is is a bit more blue-green, but it does not have the crystal clarity of the Big One....
I am really fond of pear shapes, I just wish there were settings for pears that I liked more....

Oh, and as for the camera, Nikon vs Canon, no contest.
I MUCH prefer my Nikon that I got :sun:
(there's software? )

Gorgeous, gorgeous emeralds! I just love the glow. The chubby pear morganite is beautiful as well. Will you be setting them>

Any chance you'd be willing to share the vendor? I'm an emerald lover but I've only dared purchase from two sources, Gene at Precisiongem and John at Simply Sapphires. If you have any good rec's I'd love to hear them!

Here is an iphone snap of the Emerald inside my car when I first tore open the package and saw it !
The inside of my car has a somewhat grey cast because of the tinted windows.....
Anyway, who really knows what these stones look like?
I think they are pretty however.

Hi Indylady, Thanks !!! Re Emeralds, I love the glow too!!
You can argue that my Emeralds are not the very fine type, but it's the blue-green, crystalline Emeralds that have my heart

The Morganite is a special favorite of mine, too, I LOVE chub pears!!!
In my humble opinion, the cutting on that one is dynamite....
It's sparkle was amazing outside that afternoon, too, but I couldn't capture it.

No plans to set these as of yet.... But someday!

As for Emeralds, I adore.
I would love to see YOURS!!!!!!

I bought 4 from Embassy Emeralds ( the pear, the Emerald Cut, a Round that is with Michael E right now, and the tiny ovals that Daniel M set into earrings for me)
I bought one from Dana.
And I bought one from Weblorn, it is the one that MTG bought on sale a while back and posted lots of photos,
but in the end she decided she loved Tsavorite better and sent it back.....

I REALLY have had great service from Embassy Emeralds.
I know you tried to contact them and didn't get through.
Now that I try to pull up their page, I can't, so I wonder if there's a problem there....

I would have LOVED to get an Emerald from Gene,
and I have been afraid of Simply Sapphire's prices, although I bet I could get the best Emerald EVAH from them !!!!!!!!
Want to share yours?

Ha Ha !!!!
I just hold my breath a lot
I "have" dropped almost all of them !
But thankfully I am able to find them right away!

I used to wear contact lenses back in the day, and boy there were adventures looking for those things sometimes.
I could tell stories.
But I became a skilled hunter.
I figure it's kind of the same thing. (only different, as my DH would say)

There's a CD with the package, and with any camera these days, but I never bother to download it. I just upload using the simple Windows uploader software I have.

Emeralds are a pain to photograph, but I'm glad you got such a beautiful shot of your pear and octagon stones. Just lovely!!
