DF, you still collect koi fish?
Yes, last month was my first purchase in 4 yrs, but the fish is still in Japan. It should be here by next month.

How does it know which direction to swim?

I have no "expensive" hobbies. I do have full and running over bookshelves, so . . . I guess books are a huge expenditure for me.

Louis Vuitton pocketbooks. I have 2.. would love 2 more. Husband disagrees ;-)

Travel, scuba diving, eating (we're huge foodies), and wine. Sometimes I'm shocked that we still have enough $$ to live off of considering how much we spend on those big four. :o :naughty:

Tattoos. And interior design/remodeling my home.

concerts...I love traveling and going to concerts

That reminds me---I will amend mine to tattoos and our yard. I shudder to think what we have put into our landscaping!

They'll follow your Octavia... :wink2:

Travel. We usually do it "budget style" but it still can eat up serious $.

Travel and hand knotted carpets from Iran, the former USSR and the Caucuses.

Travel, real estate, good food and wine

Fine dining, frequent travel from coast to coast, Robert Graham shirts.

I used to collect Steiff bears and animals.

When I left Germany as a child, I brought a teddy bear with me. She's with me still, so I think that's why I'm drawn to them.

We have 2 bedrooms full of Steiff inventory. My late mother was going to open a store, but passed away before she could do so.

So DH has been selling them on Ebay and his webstore Bears2Adopt.

Good coffee, good chocolate and haircuts (pixie do that needs trimming every 3 weeks).

Dancing Fire,

Would you be kind enough to share photos of your koi fish?

Koi fish are so beautiful! :))

Today, in one of my photography books, I saw photo of a man in Thailand feeding koi fish using a baby bottle. One fish has lifted its mouth above the water level to get to the bottle. The description states that this is a popular attraction.

The only thing I know about koi fish is how beautiful they look. Is feeding them by bottle a common or necessary practice?

Just curious.

Thanks!

Sorry to hear this about your mom! :nono: Bear people are always so nice.

I will keep an eye out on eBay for your DH, cflutist! I haven't bought one for many years, but you never know. ;)

Sewing and quilting. I just got my new sewing machine yesterday. She's a Singer Featherweight 221, made in 1940  and she works great! I also have another machine I bought in November which wasn't cheap either. I hesitate to think how much I've spent over the years on fabric and notions. I think I'm good with machines now, so other than servicing (cleaning etc) I should be good....maybe.. :Up_to_something: I think they're like jewelry, just "need one more".. :twirl: Here's the pic of Charlotte...charlotte_2.jpg charlotte.jpg

Cozystitches, I am drooling over your new baby, Charlotte! I am going to get me one someday soon! I have an affinity for the painted and jazzed up versions. I don't even care if I use it, I prefer my fancy machine with all the bells and whistles. The thing is just so darn pretty.

Quilting is my very expensive hobby. That and buying all manner of things for my soon to be here grand baby, Wyatt.

what beautiful fish. We recently had a Koi fish of ours disappear from our pond. No sight or sound of the 20 pound little guy.

Oh also kitchen appliances and gadgets!

Pole and aerial classes...I take several a week, and it adds up fast!

I've also been known to indulge in a designer handbag here or there...I usually buy pre-owned to keep costs lower, but it's still pricey.

Girlyglam, those always looked like so much fun!

 girly glam, I can't even touch my toes! You kick ass! :appl:

girlyglam-that looks so cool but alas there is no rope strong enough for me!

Ckrickett - If you have somewhere near you that offers classes, you should definitely try it! It is so much fun and the best form of working out I've found for myself. I'm biased, but I'm in love!

PintoBean - Lol, thank you! Trust me, none of this comes naturally to me. I'm a SLOOOOW learner - no athletic or dance experience, and not at all naturally flexible or strong. It took me years before I got my splits, and I do them all the time now because I'm still so proud that I actually can, lol. My new goal is a cheststand, but that one just may be out of my reach.

Lambskin - You'd be surprised - these ropes can hold multiple people at once! You should try it out if you get a chance!
