I’m wondering if anyone has shops that they can recommend in the Chicagoland area? Are there any reputable pricescope vendors who I could visit? This is specifically for my engagement ring.

Ivy and Rose are based in Chicago. They have some really beautiful settings and even pre loved vintage rings AND do do custom orders as well.

I’ve been working with Stan Perkins at this company since 1999! I’ve gotten my e-ring with him, wedding band, anniversary band, studs (three total pair; two upgrades), and other various pieces. He has worked there for decades and bought the company a couple of years ago. I’d definitely recommend him to you. Their website does not really show their product well, IMO. But he is awesome.

I have ask been to Diamond Zone/Ivy Rose. I liked them very much, but I only bought a very inexpensive stacking band there. They do a great job on their website!

For an engagement ring, I would buy the diamond from a PS vendor such as Whiteflash. It's easier if you have them set it as well unless you want a custom setting, and then there are great options such as Victor Canera and Caysie van Bebber.

You may not find the diamond quality in Chicago that we are accustomed to around here. I have bought a band from Ivy and Rose, but I can't say I'd go there for an engagement ring. Dimend Scaasi used to be on the forum years ago and had some nice quality settings, if that is what you are wanting to look at. But I'd still order the diamond from one of the superideal vendors if you want a round.

Burdeen’s is in Buffalo Grove:

They made Haven’s beauty (fully hand-forged, but they cast as well):

I have not personally completed a project with them, but I spoke to them at some length about one a few years ago. Fantastic communication, educational conversations - one of those outfits that is quite obviously more interested in quality, aesthetic, and long-term customer satisfaction than anything else. I felt pricing was appropriate for quality of output, and I have no hesitations recommending them for an engagement ring project ::)
