Better than lightbox studs at same price??

Hi Folks, I'm looking to get my wife some round studs and she's been looking at lightbox 1 carat studs (2 carat total) BUT she want's screw backs so that's led me to look elsewhere. I've read the lightbox thread and concluded that it's a bit of a quality lottery but we should get decent stones with a chance of better than decent. Now that I'm looking on other sites I'm overwhelmed by choice so to keep it simple I'm limiting my scope to be at or better than lightbox price so $1440 budget for the stones (800 per carat minus the 10% discount) and have loaded minimum lightbox spec's into the search tools. I've found Ritani and The Art of Jewels seems to have stones within these parameters at better prices than other stores. If you want screwbacks I would say just buy the lightbox stones and have them set at your local jeweler using their settings.

Thanks tkyasx78, It's a good idea but I'm in Australia and local jewlers here are in a world of their own when it comes to prices vs buying online in the US.

No rhyme or reason. Ritani is just one of the cheaper vendors. I have noticed they rarely carry GCAL 8x stones.

Lightbox will not ship loose stones to Australia. They are only available to ship within the US. Not sure about other vendors.
