Once again, Australian customs are driving me up the wall.

*sigh* they're just over-zealous jerks basically, lol!
I think I've only ever had one import go smoothly, it's nuts..

They wanted tax/import payment on the *whole value* of the item, not just the change in value for the new setting - despite the fact it was clearly marked both on the way to the US and back in correctly.

So, I've spent hours going back and forth via phone and email - and poor Lesley has too, and she's ended up having to re-do the paperwork at about 11pm on a sunday night..
The best bit? They want to charge me a $132 fee for "disputing" their original decision, despite the fact its not my fault in any way!
38.gif

anyways...I'm waiting now for the new result. You can bet they are *not* getting that $132, lol.

Thanks SS...
I am sorry to say, I caved today and paid the $132 "dispute fee", plus their $55 processing fee. All because *their* broker did not interpret the paperwork correctly and had to re-do it
38.gif

They were basically holding my package hostage and said they would "have no choice but to return it to sender" if I did not pay the fees. NOT COOL.

This whole transaction smacked of greed, and I am not impressed with FedEx at all.

Anyways, its done now and I will put it behind me and not let it dampen my enjoyment of my new ring
5.gif
- which, with any luck they should finally release tomorrow
20.gif

Oh no what jerks!!! I hate when big businesses think they can do things like that to their customers. Glad to hear it''s been figured out. Can''t wait to see pics!

I''d be furious also, but at least you''ll have (hopefully) your beautiful ring soon and that''s what really counts in the end.

Great choice on the yellow gold and vintage cut!

Stunning, yummy, scrumptious, hot, etc.

Stunning ring AJ! Will be hanging out for more shots!!!

Customs totally sucks!! Can you appeal the charges? That should be illegal!!!
