BGD milgrain bezel studs for mah BIRTHDAY!

So happy!!! I'm turning 35 in January (a.k.a. 24 AGAIN! ), so I gave myself a budget of $3,500 The goal was to get bigger milgrain bezel studs. I contemplated trading in my existing milgrain bezel studs from IDJ, which are 0.78 ctw uncerted excellent cut F/G color, but I figured, let's go all out with the pampering and get the handmade milgrain bezel settings from BGD and work with them to source. The IDJ bezel studs are a nice size for travel and more appropriate for visiting clients.

And because I ended up being under budget, I was able to ALSO get 0.80 shared prong huggies!!! SO now I have big sister versions of my IDJ milgrain studs and my BGD huggies. Isn't it funny that the upgrades are from whichever vendor I didn't buy the little sister from? hahahaha...

My lousy attempt to show a size comparison between the 0.39 ct and 0.70 ct. The Ks XXX look just as white as my F/Gs from IDJ. Any yellow you see is just a combination of the yellowish overhead lighting and poor iPhone ollo clip skills. Even the white gold looks tinted yellow!




And the iDJ huggies I'm picking up on Saturday from Fedex! Woot!

The IDJ bezel is thinner, and not as "perfect - a slight wonk. My DH loved the slight imperfection because it felt more organic and hand made to him. (I think it was his attempt at keeping me from overscrutinizing the IDJ studs.) I think you can see the slight wonk in the pics. But they're blown up. When they are on, they look great! No one usually compliments my shtuff, but I've gotten a few compliments on the IDJ earrings.

Now for the BGD upgrade bezels - they come out more from the diamond table and look thicker than the IDJ bezel. Also, they are perfect - each little bumpy is perfectly dotted on and spaced apart, if that makes sense.

The sparkle factor on the upgrades is ridonkulous. However, the IDJ look pretty good for dirty diamonds that need a good cleaning.

Luann sent another pic - a FRONTAL shot!!! I picked up the huggies yesterday - have been feeling exceptionally lazy so I haven't gotten to taking my own pics yet. I hope to get to them tomorrow!

The huggies are beautiful - they look more "scalloped" because of the single shared prong in between each diamond. Mom has the 1.5 ctw huggies, so I wanted smaller and a different but similar look. These fit the bill for sure!

I love my IDJ Huggies! They are definitely noticeably different in size. Here are some comparison pics with the BGD melee Huggies. The IDJ Huggies are 0.8ctw.


I'm still in awe of both pairs of earrings and just stare at them in their respective boxes. By my birthday in January I'll get over it and will start showing them off on my ears. I promise ear shots in the near future!
