Biden declares pandemic over ...

Wrinkles Schminkles.
Take comfort that by wearing the mask you're less likely to end up dead, or with long covid.

I agree! I’m never without my mask..

I agree 100% with you Kenny.

But, if this gets some people to happily wear their masks I say go for it.
They’re looking at the benefits for them. But yes life saving is the most important benefit.

It will be intereting to see how Corporations handle this. Most younger people prefer to work from home. If you spend two hours a day commuting who wouldn’t want to spend that time doing something they enjoy?

The problem is there are always the FEW employees that take advantage and are out doing other things when they should be working.

I think actually the time not spent commuting is often spent working, so productivity is higher. I know that now that I work from home and not spending close to 3 hours a day commuting, that I work at least some of that commuting time. And I also don't take much time for lunch, whereas when I went into the office everyday, I usually took at least 30 minutes for lunch, up to an hour, as I often did errands during that time. Now I just grab something from the kitchen and usually keep working........

Here (Oz) I would definitely say the pandemic is over. No more shut downs or restrictions! Barely anyone wears a mask and we made it past winter with a surge but hospitals were able to cope. Most people (including myself) have had it already and it was less severe than expected. We talk about it like the annual flu - it will mutate & require annual vaccination. Many people aren't even bothering to get the 4th booster now. Considering how badly we tanked the economy during lockdown when every politician panicked, I'm not sure it was worth it in the long run TBH.

I have been careful since the start of the pandemic. Always wearing a mask, washing hands and stopped having company indoors and yet I caught covid. I think my DH had it first (he did not test) but one day complained he felt terrible and then the next day he was fine. I then started to feel lousy (tired and achy). I tested negative the 1st 2 days, but came down with aches and a fever and a scratchy throat. Day 3 I tested positive. I was already in bed and quaranteening. Day 10 and feeling better, just tired and still have a mild cough. I am still testing positive. Doctor said that I could continue to test positive for a while, but at this point am probably no longer contagious. I still have not gone out. I feel dragged out; no energy. NO IT IS NOT OVER!
