It's so much fun, isn't it? I love my mom... Even though J and I probably won't get married for another 2-3 years, it's still fun to dream! I can't wait to go dress shopping with her!

Oh, and fisher dear, sparkles and I have a question for you on the List thread... Would you please check it out?

I''m almost making myself nuts *dreaming.* And I''ve not been to a store where I saw my boyfriend actually start the buying process. As of now, it could all be in my head. But, how fun it is to dream. So much so, I can''t seem to make myself go to bed now for all the dreaming I''m dreaming up.

It''s funny, because my mother had told me a couple of years ago that the bride and groom''s parents make the invitations, and I''ve since had this vision of horror of a 300+ guests wedding since both J and I have big families...

My mom laughed when I told her that, and said that she only meant for the invites wording (ie: Mr and Mrs Anchor31 and Mr and Mrs J ...), and that she doesn''t mean that they will be writing up the guest list!! What a relief...

She said some invitations might be tricky not to offend anyone and we might have to invite a few people out of curtesy (estranged aunts or uncles, I suppose), but if we want a small wedding (which we do), we will have a small wedding. She said we can invite cousins and less close friends and collegues at the party after the dinner, too.

She said that she really hopes I''ll involve her in the wedding planning, and if I find that she tends to want to control my decision making, I can just tell her about it and ask her to back off a bit. Her mother, my beloved grandmother, was extremely poor when she married and never had her dream wedding, so she sort of lived through my mother when she married and pushed her to have some things that mom didn''t think were necessary and were just a bunch of more trouble. So, my mother said she doesn''t want me to feel that way.

I''ve shown her the pic of my ring and she thinks it''s gorgeous. Of course, it''s pretty big compared to her .15ct solitaire, but she knows J had been saving up for it since February and will be picking it up in July, so she seems okay with it. She probably figures it''s our business anyway, as long as we don''t go into debt (which we''re not) and we absolutely adore it (which we do). We''ve been talking about what to do about the ring insurance, and she''ll help me look into it. I''m not walking around with that baby if it''s not covered!

I love my mom! I can''t wait to go dress shopping with her...

Yeah, I have no idea how ring insurance works, either. I need to find out!

My mother told me that once it''s in my possession, since as of now my permanent address is still the same as my parents'', it will be covered by their insurances along with my other possessions, including when I live in college residence housing or an apartment during the school year. It covers the ring for theft and loss only, for a certain amount of money. J and I will probably ask my parents to put an additional coverage on it for its entire value, and pay them back for the additional fees. Once J and I will live together, we''ll insure it on our apartment/house/whatever insurances.

If you have a house or an apartment, I guess you should ask your home insurance company for details...

I keep being told I need to get renters insurance. Hmmm. I didn''t know that was the way it was covered.

Yes, you definitely shoud get renters insurance!! Imagine if there was a fire in your apartment building!

And it probably would cover your ring too, you should look into it. I think other people in here have other kinds of insurances, but I''m not sure how that works.

BTW, I meant to say that my parents'' basic insurance would cover it for theft and fire or that kind of thing, but not if I actually lose it. We''ll look into additional coverage so it''s also covered for loss and it''s entire value.

Haha. That''s what I need. Insurance for losing it. I''m forgetful at times, and I am a bit terrified of having a little tiny thing on my finger worth so much!

ME TOO!! My brain is still trying to wrap itself around the fact that it''s costing us 3295$...

Mine is still warped over WOW! He GOT my diamond! And that itty bitty thing costs a freakin'' lot. More than we thought the whole ring would, back before we knew anything.

Amen...

I''m more excited and eager and antsy than I was before. I know he''s wanting it to be a surprise, but I''m SO sure he''s done it. It will be a surprise since I don''t know when he''ll have it set, or when he''ll have it, but I am a bit happy *and* annoyed that he''s playing games about the purchase. I just KNOW it was him. I''m sorry that I''ve taken over your thread talking about this, but I''m going nuts here tonight. I want to marry him NOW. So bad. Argh! Happy argh, but argh, none the less!!

YAY!!! Congrats! You made a great choice! I liked #1 and the antiquey one with the sapphire accents. #1 is superb though, I''ve always been intrigued by the look of a round center with marquise sidestones...I toyed with the idea myself for my 3-stone ring.

It''s going to be an amazing ring!!! I can''t wait to see it.

fisher, I don''t mind. Your such a sweet girl to talk to!

I understand that you want to marry Paul now... I want to marry J now too! If I hadn''t changed carreer paths two years ago and transferred colleges for next year, I''d be done next April and we could get married summer 2007... But now I''ll probably have classes until December 2008, so I think it''s safe to say we won''t get married before summer 2009... Well, at least we know it''s going to happen, right?

I woke up with a sore throat this morning...

Do you have any tips?

Kristy - Thank you! I love your 3-stones with pears... I thought about having pear sides on mine too for a while. But the setting with the marquise sides looked so perfect on my hand, I just fell in love with it! It''s so sleek and elegant!

Gee... I wore a fake for about 20 minutes and my finger already feels naked without my ring...
