I looked up how to blanch them.
Pour boiling water to just cover them.
Rest for one minute.
Rinse in cool water.
Repeat rinse.
Pinch one end so meat pops out of the skin.
Dry.

But I could not find in the Internet whether the almonds you blanch should be raw or roasted.
I eat tons of almonds and buy them raw in 2 lb bags at Costco.

So, when a recipe calls for blanched almonds should they be raw, roasted or it absolutely doesn't matter.

FWIW, the recipe is Catalan-Stype Beef Stew from ATK.
The almonds are to be food-processed and added to the picada.

I’m pretty sure raw

As far as I’m aware almonds are always raw when blanched.

I think the word y’all are going for is unadulterated.
You want unadulterated almonds.
:halo:

Raw.

ive done that when i want the skins off because its much cheaper to buy them raw still in their skins
it does work a treat
but actually prefer to buy my almonds coated in chocolate

Raw.

When I make homemade roasted nuts and seeds, I would buy skin-on raw almonds and toast them as they are.

DK :))

Speaking of nuts :)

I have found something quite delicious. Sprouted pumpkin seeds.
(I know they are technically not nuts but are considered to be in the nut category due to their nutritional profile being similarly to nuts fyi).

Sprouting them makes them easier to digest. And Costco carries them. Love Costco.
So if you like pumpkin seeds I recommend trying the sprouted version. Enjoy!
