Hi everyone!

I'm a self confessed lurker here and I keep promising and meaning to post more here... so I'm now making up for my complete lack of posts over the last 12 months with this post :)

Over the last year I've managed to get quite a few of my gems set and here are two group pictures of some of the finished projects (sorry about the bad quality pics):

Here are some pictures of my mahenge spinel ring. The setting is was made for the gem by jewelryhoo in 14K two tone and I love the gallery detail. The gem is from Dana and it is small but I think that the colour is amazing!

And here are some pictures of my emerald, green/blue/grey sapphire and minty tourmaline rings.

The emerald is from Dana and the setting was also done by jewelryhoo.

The sapphire is from Barry and the setting was done by a small local jeweller.

The tourmaline is from Dan and it was locally set into an fishtail setting that I purchased off DB.

Nice group shots - what is the blue green emerald cut stone, a tourmaline? I am such a sucker for that color...

Finally, this is a project I'm quite proud of - I purchased the setting second-hand and it held a synthetic sapphire. I had a Bob Kast rubelite set into the ring and the rhodium plating that was covering the yellow gold face of the ring posihed off :))

Nice rings, I like the Mahenge and the emerald most. Can you share who made them?

Thanks minousbijoux :) - it's an emerald from the la pita mine. It photographs more blue that in real life - which is weird because the minty tourmaline in the fishtail setting has done the opposite and photographed more green than in real life. Now I know why people say green is so hard to photograph!

Thanks crasru (I love the kitty in your avatar btw - is he/she an english shorthair?) - both of those were actully done by Lee from jewelryhoo.

I took a risk and I sent the stones to China for him to make mounts and set for me. I figued that this meant that the mounts could be made the right size for the gems. (I really should edit those posts to include that information... silly me for not doing so in the first place!)

Oh and I almost forgot to post these :naughty:

Woah....those earrings certainly caught my eye! The colours are quite good and I especially love the prongs on the peridot setting.

Great collection bleeblue! I love your spinel, rubellite, and your minty tourmaline rings   Love the peridot earrings too, those prongs are delish!

Very nice, thanks for sharing!

You've been accumulating quite a fine collection of gemstones! I particularly like Dana's spinel and love the way you've set it... The emerald ring is gorgeous, too. I love Dana's stones in general, gotta say. He's one of my favorite "vendors". So glad you finally decided to share!!

Thanks for your kind words Chrono, stargurl78, TL and Coco914 :))
