If we have 2 forums, who is going to decide what is lab and what is natural?
I agree with you. PS rules do state that this forum is for natural gems only. But, again, if one reasonably believes their stone is natural, then I don't see how it could be barred from discussion here. Diamonds are different, because the average person can test them at home.

In @natalija 's defence she says this is her first forum
i found it hard to navigate the social rules/ good manmers & expectations of an internet community at first
And i speak English as my first language

You guys here get the version of Daisey will all the hard edges knocked / rubbed off

I am sorry l can't post a video, you would change your mind. I post a lot of photos because l want to show colour change. If we have 2 forums , who is going to decide what is lab and what is natural? Reality show.

To be clear, I wasn't bringing up the question of whether your alexandrites are natural or not. So there is no need to change my mind. I agree with the above poster that if one reasonably believes their stones to be natural, and there is not some obvious indication otherwise, I am not one to police them.
Here is an example of a recent poster with obvious synthetic/imitation stones, trying to pass them off (and sell them) as natural.

Ahh I see (thank you). I'm not an alexandrite collector myself, so I wasn't aware of what a hot topic it is. Still though, I feel like some of the more hostile responses have been a bit unwarranted. And it just makes me sad. :confused2:
Are we talking about this stone?

Yes, I recall this one, @demantoidz. :???:

My concern with setting this stone is whether it can be set safely. There might be inclusions that, when under the heat and pressure of the setting process, could cause issues to the stone. Your jeweler would have to advise.

I agree the stone could be sapphire. I did a quick Google search for opaque stones in this color range. Apatite came up. However, I don't know if apatite can have needle inclusions in this form. Here's an example.

As for the 'drama' aspect - I don't mind mind the idea of allowing synthetics on this subforum (same with the diamond and synthetic diamond subforums) but understand why many would prefer separation. That is what I think some of natalija's threads have boiled down to, regardless of whether their stones are natural or synthetic. To me it doesn't matter outside of discussions where synthetic/natural status is relevant. However, I do have my own personal preferences for what I would buy/set. I am not a veteran or mod so my opinion on this doesn't matter much.

@natalija: My honest advice is if you feel like you are not getting something positive from an online space (fun, education, etc), take a step back and return a few weeks later. I have taken breaks from online communities for various reasons and I felt better upon returning.

i already have a pendant with synthetics stone which is the same size like my Sapphire, l"ll just swap the stones.

you are joking?

lol No I wasn't sure which stone you were asking about. A different poster started a thread with what appeared to be several imitations stones.

I try to avoid definitively stating whether I believe something is synthetic or natural, because, in truth, I really don't now. Yours is a pretty stone though, @natalija!

It possible it’s Australian Sapphire. Here in Australia our sapphires are often bi colour ie blue/ green and can be very pretty.
The gem appears significantly included but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t love it or set it in jewellery, just that as a gem it’s value is on the low side.
