Blue sapphire and diamond ring beauty <3

So last night my mom gave me her blue sapphire and diamond ring and asked me to do my magic and clean it, because she gave up on trying...unsuccessfully! The ring is a set with matching earrings and a cross pendant, which i don't have...yet
I always loved this ring and my mom wears it with her rose gold wedding band so much more than her wedding set...which i don't quite understand, because this ring is so big and heavy that it can't be comfortable to wear all the time as an ER
I cleaned the ring and i admired its beauty for hours last night I felt like diving inside this sapphire The stones are set on a 18kt yellow gold setting and the prongs are WG.
I called my mom and started praising the beauty of the ring and told her how much i love it, so she said "Well, you can have it! It's yours if you like it so much" i couldn't believe it! For a moment, a little devil inside me said "yes yes yes, take it"! But i just can't accept...I know how much she enjoys wearing it, it wouldn't be fair to take it from her, especially since i have so many rings already
Anyway, mommy said that i can keep the ring and play with it as much as i want, so i thought i'd share it with my friends here! I posted two pics last night on Hangout but i felt that this beauty deserves her own thread!
According to my mom's memory (the papers are locked away) the sapphire is aproximately seven carats and the diamonds are more than one and a half carat.

That was really sweet of your mom just to say you could keep her ring! Very pretty! I have an oval sapphire in a halo that reminds me a lot of this one, except mine has a single shank and is smaller.

Thanks Diamondseeker! About the shank of the ring: I never liked much the double (in this case triple!) shank. But my mother told me that the ring was custom made and she asked specifically for this shank in order to avoid the spining of the ring. And she was soooo right. She has a gorgeous ruby ring that spins like crazy because the shank is single, but this ring stays exactly where it's supposed to be!!!
