This ring belonged to my mom and she purchased used so I believe it's a blue topaz but not 100% sure. It's a marquis stone with a halo of small diamonds. On the close up pic (last one) some prongs appear to be worn/missing. The stone does not feel loose to me though. It's a pretty blue sometimes looking steely in some lights. Measures about 15mm NS and 10 EW.
It's stamped "Garland". When I look up Garland I find this: The "GARLAND" hallmark was the trademark used by The Ball Co. of Chicago, Illinois on their fine jewelry. In 1924, the company began carrying their 'Garland' line, aptly named after The Garland Building in Chicago where the company was housed, while continuing to offer very collectible railroad timepieces. The company discontinued their Garland jewelry in 1960 and the watch-side of the company is now operated out of Switzerland. Due to The Ball Company's reputation for fine timepieces, their jewelry too was/is very fine and collectible..."
