Hi all. Maybe someone can help. I sent Mr Kast a message through DiamondBistro about one of his stones, and he replied, giving me his email address to make a payment through PayPal, and that he was in the process of moving so that is why he did not get back to me in answer to my first email to him. Anyway, I purchased the stone from Bob Kast through DiamondBistro and paid for it on April 25. I have not heard from him since. I have sent several emails to several of his email addresses, but no response. This morning I called the number on his website and it was a mailbox that was full and not accepting any new messages. I'm at a loss. It was not an expensive stone, it was under $100, but nevertheless, it was my first stone purchase from a cutter recommended on PS, and I was so looking forward to it. Anyone have any ideas?

Oh dear! I hope nothing terrible happened to him. I had a good experience with him a few years ago so I doubt he's going to disappear with your money.

My most recent purchase with Bob Kast was last year, and at that time I dealt with his assistant Rebecca, who was very responsive to emails (which came through Bob's yahoo.com email address listed on his website) - I wonder if she no longer works for him?

I do believe Bob to be reputable and honest, though historically not much for email, but as you'd made your payment and have been waiting for a parcel that hasn't come - I'd be thinking perhaps there is illness or family emergency? Since several weeks have passed with no word and no way to contact him, I'd probably attempt refund of my money through PayPal's policies? (I do hope Bob is all right)

I was browsing DB last week and thought of Bob Kast, I purchased a stone from him last year and his assistant was lovely and courteous. I hope he is ok too and he gets back to you soon.

I do hope he is OK. I'd much rather have the stone than the cash, but I may have to eventually try for a refund through Paypal if they will allow it. Don't know how that works.

I bought 2 stones April 5 and got them the 10th. did you try emailing both of his aol.com email addresses? (the one he puts in his listings and the one he says to pay him through paypal with?)

I worked directly with him and not Rebecca. Hopefully the move has just taken longer to settle than he thought :(

Hi, yea, I emailed him through the email he has with DiamondBistro, the one on his website, the one where I sent $ and another one he used the first time he contacted me outside of DBistro. Then I called the telephone number listed on his website. Oh well. I'll wait a little longer. Maybe someone else who reads this will have some info. ;(

I hope nothing happened to him. Good luck with the stone!

FWIW - I contacted Bob thru DB last month (turns out he didn't have what I was looking for) But on April 17th his message to me stated he was moving and everything was in boxes and wouldn't be cutting anything for about three weeks.....
I hope you get your stone soon. Expensive or not - its still frustrating to have to wait. Even more so with no communication! Good luck!!

Update...well, I went ahead and put in a PayPal dispute re unreceived item. Maybe he will respond. I think PayPal gives him until June 11 to respond, and if not, then I have to actually do a PayPal claim. I would still rather have the stone!

JJ,
I know how you feel; there are often times I'd rather have the stone than the money back but you have to do what you have to do. ::)

I am happy to report:

Dian;
I have been moving to my new home and had no internet connection untill now and had to go with another provider.
I will check pay-pal and if paid in full I will rush it to you. Really sorry for the delay, I am always fast on responding but this could not be helped.

Bob Kast

Dear Bob:

Oh Yea! I am just so glad to hear you are ok. You came highly recommended by PriceScope users. Yep, send the stone. I will stop the PayPal 'dispute'. Thank you, and I really can't wait to see your stone. Best to you, Dian

So seems I'll have the stone soon :lickout:

Oh good, so happy to hear it! Now have you told us what stone it is?

Moving is such a pain and hassle. I'm so glad Bob was able to reach you at long last.
