I am working with BGD to find a round cut for my gf's e-ring, which I would like to place in this setting: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/engagement-rings/pave-and-side-stones/legera-18k-white-gold-5861w18
I have identified a non-signature stone (i.e., a stone that is not held in BGD's inventory) and they are bringing it in for imaging today (comments welcome): http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.160-h-vs2-round-diamond-gia-38734364
My question is this: aside from not having the lifetime upgrade option, are there any other disadvantages to buying a non-signature stone from BGD? Does anyone have any experience doing so?

PS: for those of you who may recognize my user name, I had posted about a pear halo 4 or so weeks ago. Thanks to some advice from a friend of my gf's, I am no longer pursuing that path.
