Brian Gavin Select, 1.0ct G, SI1 GIA XXX (AGS0 parameters) with strong blue fluorescence in a setting by David Klass. The setting has 2.05ct of G VS melee. The larger stones in the middle of the shank graduate from 22 pointers at the top down to 5 pointers, 1 pointers in the halo and rest of ring, engraving on sides and bottom of shank.

I wanted a big, ornate, sparkly, stand-alone ring and I think I got it :D David Klass was a dream to work with. I sent him about a dozen pictures of Jack Kelege, Michael M, Beaudry, Gabriel &Co, etc. and a list of the different elements I liked. He put it all together much sooner than the 30 day lead time I was quoted so I would have it in time for Christmas :twirl: Awesome experience!

Love it!! I love substantial engagement rings!

Yowza, that's absolutely gorgeous! I love me a substantial, bold setting too!

Yeah, it took me a LONG time and a ton of different settings to realize "dainty" does not look good on my hand. Kind of like a string bikini wouldn't look good on me either

Oh my heavens, that is just fabulous!!! I love the wide setting - the design is beautifully done, you have a big bold look but the center diamond still stands out - I LOVE it! The craftsmanship looks excellent too - Congrats and enjoy all the bling! :appl:

Thanks, Junebug :D There was a thread not too long ago about wether a person was all about the DIAMOND or THE RING. Me? All about the ring, baby!

Wow! I love everything about it! I bet it's super sparkly!

That's really beautiful! Enjoy!!!!

I love how you pulled elements from other rings to create this ring that is unique to you! Beautifully well done! :appl:

Very pretty - congrats on getting exactly what you wanted!

Its amazing!! And how wonderful to get all the elements that you wanted, combined in one ring! Fantastic --- sure does have a lot of presence on your hand!! ENJOY!!

It is beautiful and I am glad to see more of David's work here!

That is one rockin ring! Very bold and beautiful details! I love it  Congratulations!

I really love your ring, I like the wider band!

It suits your hand perfectly! Congrats on your beautiful new ring!

Thank you for the kind comments. I've been wearing it for a day now and am thrilled with the workmanship. I know there has been some controversy about DK, but he is so wonderful to work with and his bench is great! The milgrain, the engraving, perfectly set stones--it's all fabulous.

I was at my husband's company Christmas party last night and the woman I was sitting next to grabbed my hand and oohed and ahhed. All of that gave me plenty of time to tell her about online vendors, AGS0, etc. and now she's going to have her fiance get in touch with me before he buys =) I have been on this site for 3 years now, lurking and learning (though feeling out of my league to be a frequent poster) but it feels really good to know I might save a woman from some horrible ring at the mall!

And speaking of color and fluorescence, I just wanted to throw out my observations for someone else looking into that. I had a 1.55ct J AGS0 with very strong blue in my possession for a day. I was really hoping the VSBF would offset the color, but it didn't. That particular stone glowed a true blue in sunlight, which was so super cool, but otherwise looked very much like a J (although that diamond was borderline FIC with a high crown, so it could have been "darker" for a J as well).

And then I have my current stone which is also ideal, G with strong blue. Again, the SBF is evident in sunlight, although this one glows lilac instead of blue-blue, but otherwise I don't perceive that it makes the stone look whiter in other lighting. I love fluorescence and because I live in California where it's sunny about 360 days a year ( ) it's an awesome feature to have, but I wouldn't go into diamond shopping again thinking it would make a J look like anything other than a J. At least that's been my experience.

Wow your ring is amazing  Congratulations!

Beautiful! I had a G with fluoro, too, and loved it!

I REALLY like this! Those graduated diamonds on the sides are really pretty and unique! You did such a nice job designing your ring! :appl:

David Klass is kicking some booty on PS this week! Beautiful.

I really like this substantial blingy ring!! It's a great design. Very unique. I bet it feels great on. Congratulations!! Could use more shots!M

I love this and I want one!!! What size finger? Is it as blingy and substantial as it looks?

Is it white gold or platinum? Do you have a matching band or do you wear it alone?
