There is a ring that I've been eyeing for several months. It's way out of my price range.
I wanted to ask the opinion of PS'ers.
Here are the specs:
The center stone is a 1 carat brown quartz. It's about 5-7mm and with a round cut.
The 100 diamonds that make up the double halo are about 0.90 carats in total carats. The color of the diamonds average to G-H and the clarity of them is about Si2.
It's 14kt gold -- almost 6 grams.
The price is around $2,000. Would you pay that much for a brown quartz? If the center stone was anything but a quartz, I don't think I'd question it that much. I guess I can see the cost of 100 small diamonds and the gold being the reason for the price tag.
The gold is rose gold. I can't think of another stone that could be substituted. Maybe a chocolate diamond? Or a morganite?
It's a beautiful ring!
