Budget concious ring similar to 1895 solitaire

I have been looking at solitaire settings for months, and have very specific criteria... I thought I had found 'the one' but then read another PSer saying the band had a slight knife edge, so back to the drawing board.

Here is the wish list:
I would like a ring similar to the Caroline by Vatche (which is the one that apparently has a slight knife edge even though it doesn't show in pics), and the 1895 solitare by Cartier.

I would like it to be made in yellow gold with a platinum head, no melee stones. I do not have my diamond yet, but am looking at the .7 - .9 range.

I do not want the band to taper as I have an existing wedding band I am trying to accommodate, and for the same reason I would like something with a rounded shank.

Does this magical ring exist?

Okay, not sure what you consider 'budget' since there are some that think a $2k setting is 'budget' and others that think $200 is, but here goes nothing!

With all of these, I'm sure you could ask to have the shank either taper or not, be narrower or wider, or be rounded vs. knife edge. Sometimes a small tweak like that does not incur a custom fee.

I will also say that if this is your engagement ring, offering to chip in toward the setting of your dreams isn't the worst idea, compared to getting something 'good enough' and never being fully satisfied, and then spending more money to correct it down the line. Gold prices just keep going up and up, so maybe you can sell it as the true 'budget' option to buy now vs. later?

Can't you just do the Caroline? That seems to be the best solution. It does not have a knife edge...the ridge is so slight I can't even see it on my daughter's ring.

She keeps posting these threads and not providing the right information. The Vatche is too expensive for her. So she wants a cheaper copy.

For any lurkers, when something is too expensive for you, don't be cute just say: I love THIS RING, but it is too expensive for me. My budget is THIS MUCH. What should I do?

In the meantime I thought I would find out from other PSers who no doubt have seen similar settings what is out there.

My budget for the setting is $1000. Sorry I didn't get that out there sooner, guess in the country I am from we don't usually talk about money.

At 1k, and in 18k yellow with a platinum head?

When you main criterion is price, you have to state that price. Otherwise it's an exercise in frustration for both parties.
