Buy Loose Diamond and Have set by Someone Else

Hi,

Is there a problem with buying a loose diamond (cushion shape) from an online vendor and then having it set by a local jeweler? I don't see the ring that I like on the vendor's website even though it is a simple solitaire 14k white gold ring with 2mm or less width. It probably makes sense to ask if they can do something that isn't on their website...right? I am working with ERD.

i would ask them to make the setting you want, first. They make a lot of custom designs and they do a fabulous job. If that doesnt work outside venders will do it, but you might have to insure it while its being set, sense the stone and setting are from two different places

seconding Neilseel's suggestion. If you can find picks of what you'd like, or links from another vendor, they should be able to replicate it for you.
