Buying jewelry from T.V.

Bad idea? I love pink diamonds and a shopping channel is selling a pink diamond (enhanced) ring in white gold. It''s looks very pretty, but I wonder what the quality would be. Has anyone had luck buying from T.V.?

How is the return policy? And the quality of the diamonds? Sometimes I go ahead and purchase something as long as you can return it, why not? Unless others have had really bad experiences. Btw. where on tv?

Forgot to add that lately I''m obsessed with a pink diamond band - - I have no idea why --- the problem is I love the Leon Mege ones!!

At least around here, the TV shopping guys are pretty good about selling what they say they’re selling and honoring returns if you’re not happy. The big thing to watch out for is the claims of what ‘retail’ or ‘regular’ prices are as some sort of basis for comparison and for their use of overblown adjectives like ‘spectacular’ and ‘fabulous’. They are high volume sellers and they’re VERY good at taking pictures that make their stuff look it’s very best. All in all I think most TV shoppers are fairly happy with what they get unless they have some illusion that it’s a great bargain or a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Are you in the UK or the US? There''s recently been a shopping television channel in the UK selling pink diamonds. However, it transpired they are coated diamonds and people have been returning the jewellery for refunds as this wasn''t disclosed at the point of sale. The company is now fully disclosing but I just wanted to warn you so you could check exactly what enhancements/treatments have been applied.
