Congrats gingerb! Welcome little tiger gingerbaby. Good luck with the healing.

Congrats Ginger!!! Welcome to the world Tiger Ginger baby!!!!

Great pic Mer!!

congrats ginger!!! i love that he waited to be a tiger...hahaa. i joke around that J waited til 40w1day just to be like ''see mom i showed you i''d go to full term and one day overdue''. stubborn little boys. hang in there re: the transition. it was a little weird for me to go from being pregnant (for 10 months so it feels like forever) to having the baby be out and the responsibility of caring for him. but now a few weeks in, we''re doing a''ok. take care of yourself during the healing as well, it can be tough on us.

jcrow...yeah i thought for sure we''d have an 8+ lber and i didnt expect him to fit into newborn diapers or clothes for long. we got a few newborn things from people and i bought 2-3 but that was it. but he''s leanish so he totally does. and yeah we have like maybe 7 sleepers and about 5-6 kimono tshirts. the tshirts have mittens and 2 of the sleepers...but the rest of the sleepers which we love for having FEET, don''t have the mitts. carters newborn sleepers DO have mitts and feet...honestly i think those are the best for newborns. and zip makes it easy.

Congrats GingerB!!!!!!!!!

thanks mara, good to know! there''s a carter''s outlet near me, so i''ll go check to see if they have any there. right now i don''t think we have any newborn kimono shirts or sleepers with feet + mitts. we have a small sleep sack [that looks big] and a swaddle blanket but i think that''s it in the sleep department. and don''t have any newborn diapers yet.

re the sleep sacks, we have a few but havent used them yet since i think they are 10-18lbs for small and J is not quite 9 lbs yet. i can''t wait to try them though since he does not love his arms swaddled and is happier when they are out (and sleeps the same length of time whether they are in or out but he will fight to get them out if they start in) so the sleep sack might work well for us when he can finally wear it.

re the newborn clothes, i don''t want to make everyone think they should have a ton of nb stuff since it def depends on your kiddo''s shape, but even my friend who had a stocky 9lb baby said her baby was in nb stuff for about 2 weeks. but she didnt fit in nb diapers at all. whereas J is still fitting best in the pampers new baby nb (up to 10lbs) vs their size 1 (8-14)..the size 1 look huge on him but they work in a pinch.

oh and gerber stuff does run smaller than carters but J still fits in gerber and carters NB ok.

Congrats GingerB. Sorry about the tearing. Hope the recovery gets better soon. Can''t wait to see pics of your little tiger.

CONGRATS GINGER!!!! Welcome to the world, little Gingerbaby!!! What a great birth story. Glad you are on the mend!!! Are you going to share his name?????? And pictures please! Feel better!!!

sigh... i have to go buy a glucometer and then my doctor is referring me to a specialist. once i meet with him, i''ll know more. i pray i can monitor it with diet and exercise.

i was so worried about this.

i think i may have mentioned it before, but as small and petite the women in my family are, there''s a history of them birthing big babies. the more i thought about it, i wondered if there was any connection between the big babies and gd, since a concern of moms to be with gd is big babies. back in the day, i don''t think gd was tested. the upside to all of this is that maybe i''ll be able to not have such a big baby if i can control my gest. diabetes. which in turn may mean i can have a v-birth instead of a c-section like my mom + grandmother had.

Jcrow, I''m sorry. I can relate to your disappointment, when I failed the three hour I was pretty bummed. The diet makes life more difficult, but it''s certainly manageable. I''m 8 weeks into it and now it''s just habit. I''ve avoided medication to this point, and am now at the stage where numbers head back down into the normal range. If you need any food tips or just to commiserate with someone who has been there I''m all ears.

Jcrow, bummer on the test but with your family history, I''d almost see this as a positive. You can take action, get treatment, etc. C-sections weren''t very common in your grandmother''s era, were they?

Mere you look great! Can''t believe you are 30 weeks!

Kim, have you gotten an update from the doc or is that coming on Monday? Good baking...

Jcrow I am sorry, I know you are bummed. Hopefully with diet you can avoid medication and have a v birth. I didn''t know your family history, so it all makes sense if that''s the right word??

I hope the Specialist can put some of your worries to rest.

Cara, my fluid was stable yesterday so my OB was notified and I was sent home . I go in for monitoring Monday morning and then immediately afterwards to my 37 week appt., unless I''ve lost fluid and hit the magic cutoff, in which case I''ll be admitted for induction immediately. If I make it to my appt. we''ll discuss induction at that point. Fluid is the major factor, not sure what else will be included in the decision. Those will be my big questions on Monday. Thanks for asking. How are you feeling?

congrats ginger!!!

thanks kim. i''m hoping that i am able to do the diet and not have to deal with insulin shots. my sil also had gd with her pregnancy and was very adamant about controlling it with diet despite what her doctor thought. he wanted her to do insulin. she was able to diligently control it just with diet and exercise.

Ginger-CONGRATS!

i agree. i think the upside is that i may be able to manage the weight of my baby and thus be able to have a v-birth. i''m pretty sure the c-sections in my family were due to the size of the babies. i''m not sure what was common in my grandmother''s era. she''s in her late 80s. they told her her hips were to narrow to deliver her babies vaginally. but so much is different now and doctors know so much more now.

i am bummed. but i really feel like this is one aspect of pregnancy that i can control. yeh, my mom and grandmother were probably less than 100 lbs pre pregnancy and 5'' or under and gave birth to 8+ and 9+ and nearly 10 lb babies.

Hi ladies, I was wondering if anyone new of any medicine that can be taken in the first trimester for a cold? I came down with a horrible cold and I am miserable!

On a good note, we have our first u/s on Monday!! I can''t wait!!

Kaleigh, Radiant, and Cara- Thanks ladies! I was having a "skinny" feeling day, so I was excited to take my pic early this morning. lol.
41.gif

Jcrow- I hope that this whole ordeal will actaully make you feel more comfortable. I love that you have found a positive in all of this, and are able to do everything to make sure you can have v-birth. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Can you believe we are at 30 weeks???
31.gif

Jena- I''m sorry, I don''t have any advice re: the cold, other than maybe tylenol cold/sinus. Can''t wait to hear about your u/s on Monday! What an exciting thing to look forward to!

Ok ladies... Is no one else going to post a belly pic???
11.gif

Jena: My doctor said that Sudafed products are safe and so is Tylenol Cold. I literally had back to back colds from Sept. - Feb. this winter, and I found that the traditional Sudafed, that they sell behind the counter at the pharmacy (pseudoephedrine) was the only one that worked for me. My dr. also told me that she preferred that to the Tylenol Cold because it was a single medication as opposed to the Tylenol which has 3 or 4 different drugs combined in a single pill.

Jcrow: I''m so sorry to hear about the GD. It sounds like you are really committed to controlling it with diet, though, and I''m sure that you''ll be successful.

Meresal: you look great - so tiny!

So sorry about the Glucose test Jcrow, I was actually thinking about you when I was at mine on the same day. All checked out well on my side besides being borderline anemic. Best of luck managing it with diet, I''m sure you can do it!

Ginger- Congrats, can''t wait to see some pictures of the LO

Meresal- you look so good at 30 weeks, I''ll have to get in on the pics soon now that Im 24 wks.

Jena- Tylenol, Sudafed or Benadryl are all safe. Save your time with the ones on the shelf and get the OTC ones that you have to get from the pharmacy tech and sign your name away for the same money as the ones on the shelf. If you have a Dr. appt anytime soon mention something to your doc and they will prescribe something for you. I just came down with another sinus infection and nothing OTC works so my doc gave me the Z-pak prescription for $10 - hopefully it works

jcrow... also technology now is diff, you may not have to have a csec. i have a friend who is 5''6" and she is like 100 lbs normally. her hips and body are tiny. she had two babies via vag birth, honestly i don''t even know how they babies got through there haha. the 2nd one was about 8lbs. so you never know...don''t despair totally. and if you can control it, fabulous..!! hang in there.

mere you look great! i can''t believe that is a 30 week belly!

drk are you still around ???
