You've probably already told us, but what's your avatar? 'cause I covet it Tanzanite? Some awesome sapphire? Rough for your ER ring for LD? It really is stunningly beautiful - that's what I call saturation!
I got the deal of the century at the Franklin Faceters Frolic from the owner of Montana from Columbia while he was doing a discussion on cutting emeralds for yield and color. I put it on Youtube in my section (gsellis) and asked Ella if it would be ok to post the link. She had to confer and I never heard back. But if you check my channel, the video is there. It is rather long, but it goes into the detail of orientation of the rough stones for cutting. Boring if you don't care, but interesting if you wonder about the thought process for approaching how to cut a stone of considerable worth (mine was only $125/ct without a middle markups.)
Ha Ha Ha..that puny thing for LD...she would kill me ...here is the rough I have for my engagement ring for LD
George pretty much nailed it. Believe it or not thats not my picture but it was my stone. It was my first purchase from Tan years ago. That is his picture. It was a perfectly well formed and terminated crystal that was clean clean. This was back when only TL and I were buying from Tan. It was my first tanzanite crystal and one of my first ebay buys ever.
