Msop04 - I found this on IG tonight. It looks a lot like a pic you posted on PS while attending a football game.... I hope I'm not in violation posting it on here; the IG acct is lewismalka.

Hey! Thanks for the heads up... Yes, this is the exact picture I took while at an Auburn football game. I addressed the IG poster and "thanked" him for reposting my rings - HA!

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I've noticed lots of PS rings being used on IG without credit and have written a few when I noticed (Charmy's pics are everywhere!). I guess it can be a compliment for y'all but sheesh - at least mention where you found the pic. Gorgeous ring though!

That mint66 asscher that was a JOTW, you all know the one, I've seen used in adds on pinterest. I make a point to comment that its gross to misrepresent others work as your own any time I see something like that

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Frankiextah's are in that guy's account as well, and I am sure there are many others he lifted from here and otehr sites.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I reported him and shamed him by tagging the designer/owners and he blocked me immediately. I logged in to my business account and took screen shots galore for the copyright holders though.

I know there are several more items in there that don't belong to him.

This is how the poster describes himsel (from his website): "Lewis Malka is the owner and founder of Lewis Malka London. Specialising in fine diamond jewellery and engagement ring design, Lewis’s individual approach to premium jewellery sets him head and shoulders above the competition." For him to post a ring he did not design or sell, without clarifying that, strikes me as misrepresentation because the expectation would be that he would mostly showcase jewelry from his own shop. :nono:

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I went and commented on a few photos of his. One is clearly langs, another clearly Whiteflash, another is a rubylane vendor I can't remember the name of

On his link, that hand photo, that looks like Whiteflash. What do you think?

I knew most of the hand shots didn't look unfamiliar. If you look closely at the ones in HIS boxes, the craftsmanship is horrible. So you can definitely tell a difference. Most of those are lifted photos of handshots. On FB, MSOPs ring is in "client handshots," as is Frankies. We obviously know those are NOT his clients. I sent screenshots to Victor and to Christopher Designs. I blasted him on FB already so I am sure I am blocked already for that. He got me on Insta pretty quick.

I guess we all just need to start putting our names on our photos.

Very smart. It wouldn't be so bad if he was posting 'inspirational' or 'admirational' shots. But to actually but them under 'client designs' is downright deceptive. The vendors should absolutely be notified. What a shady guy!

Considering WFs other photos look exactly the same, prob a safe bet. I can't find the exact photo though.

Niel - yup, that's not just WF, that's Vatche. Here's the original (thank you, google images) - looks like he cropped and altered the colouring slightly.

Posting THAT as his "workshop" photo - this idiot is inviting lawsuits. I hope he gets them, en masse :nono:

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Boy oh Boy, now we have to start worrying about our ring pics being used as his own designs when we all know we used very talented vendors on here. This is not right. I had the same thing happen with my purses posted on purse forum. Ebay people were stealing our pics of our handbags and using them to sell bags. I had to start putting my name across the bags I posted in order to prevent people stealing my photos of my purses.
I hate when people do things like this, very sleazy!

Now I am going to see if my rings are being used as well. I guess anytime you post pics on the internet you run into these problems.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Well, that is a gorgeous picture of MSOP's rings! (gosh, and I JUST realized who you are, msop!!!)

I realize pictures can float around the internet when we post them. I have seen many of our rings on google images, so people don't ever even have to come here to see them. BUT...for a jeweler to represent that these are his own work, well, that is NOT acceptable! :angryfire:

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

MSOP you should go write a review on his Facebook. Sense he claims to have made your ring and all....

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Someone probably should email Whiteflash that one. I don't see that on FB.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Wow. Hope he gets sued for the blatant misrepresentation.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Frankie's ring is on there, more than half the pics on his F/B page are not rings made by him, his own pave halos and prong work are woeful so I have no idea what qualifies him as an expert to comment on celebrity rings...

Yea I already contacted her and Victor. I sent screenshots of that to both.

But claiming her and MSOPs rings to be "client handshots?" NO. Just not acceptable. So you know if he's stealing those, and putting a Vatche from WF on his website? What else isn't his?

The frustrating thing is you cannot report anything on Insta or FB and have anything happen.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Been following this, what cheek! He talks quite highly of himself too, I hope the fallout is swift!

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I'm surprised (or not really) that all those photos are on his account. Whenever I see reposts on IG, the posters are usually really good about crediting the OP. This guy is sad. :naughty: :eh: :o

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

He posted 34 days ago in Twitter about his new "fresh from the bench" section and asked everyone what his favorite one was. May want to tweet about the ones he stoke

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Esp since MSN is using him as an expert!
