MSOP you should go write a review on his Facebook. Sense he claims to have made your ring and all....

I may just do that... :|
i totally would. So far my comment under his client hand shots has not been removed though it's 3am or so there and I did it at like 9pm his time.

Frankie's ring is on there, more than half the pics on his F/B page are not rings made by him, his own pave halos and prong work are woeful so I have no idea what qualifies him as an expert to comment on celebrity rings...
Yea I already contacted her and Victor. I sent screenshots of that to both.

But claiming her and MSOPs rings to be "client handshots?" NO. Just not acceptable. So you know if he's stealing those, and putting a Vatche from WF on his website? What else isn't his?

The frustrating thing is you cannot report anything on Insta or FB and have anything happen.

You must have gotten to him, ame... my ring is not on his FB page anymore (at least from what I saw). :praise:

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I'm a professional photographer and sadly this happens all the time. I've had my photos stolen by another "photographer" and placed on their website as their own. You ladies are doing the right thing by emailing whiteflash and VC. I'm pretty sure it falls under copyright infringement and their attorneys should be able to put a stop to it within a few days.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Thank you for posting this thread. I found my rings on his IG and FB pages too. I commented that he needed to remove it and revealed who actually made the ring. We'll see if he removes mine as well. Annoying!

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I sent a video to Lorraine Schwartz via Instagram and to Kim K via Twitter and Instagram. I believe Lorraine actually viewed it (you can tell if their avatar goes from frosted to full color) but she did not reply. I also called him out on Twitter personally. This stuff makes me irate. It's happened to me, both in professional work and private life. But his clients HAVE to have picked up on the difference between the photos he shows and the work he produces, but why does this person not know that you can't just use any photo you find online and claim it as your own?

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

creep.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I had tweeted at him last night about it, and he cannot delete my tweets, but he hasn't responded, and has not blocked me. Since most of the designers know, either by my tagging them in a post I made on Instagram, some form of contact they've received, or by this thread, I suspect he's going to have a rough week.

I guess we probably should start putting our screen names on our photos when we post them. I wonder if admin can put some kind of automatic watermark over them when they're uploaded?

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Well done AME!!

Note to the frauds out there..DON'T MESS WITH PSers :angryfire:

P.S. That pic of MSOP04s ring is amazing!!!

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

He did this to himself. This isn't our fault. Don't steal photos of work that is not yours and claim it to be yours, and you won't have these problems. I hope one of these companies brings him up to the London Diamond Bourse or other such organization where he is a member.

You should be a private investigator/consumer advocate Ames! Good job!

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

brava, ame!!!

This sort of thing is infuriating. I don't *want* to plaster my photos with watermarks, but it's probably something we should all seriously think about... especially now that re-posting/pinning/tweeting photos all over the web is so common! The vendors we use should get credit for their work, and we should get credit for our photos. I've noticed that watermarking is more common on TPF - and goodness knows it doesn't detract from my enjoyment of the goods ::)

I vaguely remember Kenny having a watermarking dilemma at one point, I think?

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I cannot be the only one doing the alerting though, so make sure you are all tagging stuff, and alerting people. Especially if you're the owner or brand.

This stuff enrages me. Probably because I come from a world where IP theft is equally rampant. :angryfire: I really do need to be better about watermarking my own images, and I wish on Instagram you could just slap that tag right in the middle so that anyone that tried to steal it was stuck with a tag right in the middle.

Hopefully all the designers and damaged parties can take care of this. But going so far as to stealing a photo of Kim Kardashian's ring by Lorraine Schwartz--he must not realize the resources some of these companies and names have in comparison to his.

Stealing a photo of a random person on the internet is one thing, most people probably wouldn't recognize it. But a 2 Million $, 20ct celebrity ring? C'mon. How dumb can you be that you think no one would recognize that

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

he still hasn't deleted that comment, so if anyone wants to chime in, feel free. I also noticed he still hasn't deleted Frankie's Victor Canera out of that Client Selfie section. I tagged Victor Canera in the comments for that photo, it's dated in January. Just if anyone wants to comment on that one.

Looks like your post is gone.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I can still see it on FB

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

I am a photographer in real life, and this happens all the time. It's so discouraging and ridiculous to me that anyone thinks it is ok to take images that aren't yours and represent them as such. Even if you don't say specifically that you took the photo or that you made the product, it is implied. I actually recognized a lot of the images from pinterest!

I think he's hidden it. I checked on my page and I can hide comments on my page. I guess you can see it, because you wrote it.
There are two comments hidden, I assume probably another negative comment.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Yeah I can't see the comment either.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Are the photos still visible? Frankies ring and MSOPs?

He has me blocked on Twitter too. So someone else will have to take care of him there.

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

They are still under 'Client Selfies' but they say something along the lines of " Valentine's inspiration"

They're still listed under client selfies though and neither frankie nor msop are his clients. So he's still claiming those as his own works, just like his showing a Lorraine Schwartz ring that belonged to Kim Kardashian, or the Vatche from Whiteflash came out of "his workshop."

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

Yep! Not the smartest guy

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

He also shows Blake Lively's engagement and wedding rings in his pictures. A person would have to be living under a rock not to recognize that set.

msop04 - I apologize if this was already asked but this pic is also your ring (last pic on top row), yes? I can't tell. It's on his website - I took a screenshot, under Fresh Out Of The Workshop (implies to me that he made it), in the fifth to last row of pics. I thought I saw another PS user's ring too but I'm still trying to figure it out.

The Auburn game photo is off of IG, or at least I can't find it.

Yeah it's hers

Re: Calling MSOP04 - is this your ring/pic I found on Instag

A large number of the rings on people's hands are not made by him. I thought the most obvious answer would be reporting him to the UK jewellers association but I checked and surprise, surprise he is not registered with them or any other genuine jewellers or goldsmiths association that I can find in the UK.

But MSN calls him an expert!
