Since I am overseas, I do not feel comfortable sending my studs to vendor, also there are custom tax issues which I do not want to get into. Right now, I have approached a PS vendor about making these jackets. However, vendor not having the studs in hands, has reservations about making the jackets accurately enough to fit perfectly, so there are no guarantees.

Thus, my questions to you, owners of earring jackets, are what details/measurements do I need to make sure that there is a 100% fit afterwards?

Any help is much appreciated! TIA!

ETA: Sorry, I know this may not be the right forum for jackets but I do know there are quite a number of colored stone posters who own earring jackets! Your help is needed! Thank you! :wavey:

This is really tricky, and I'm not sure I'd be comfortable having jackets made without the jeweler having studs in hand. A lot depends on the type of stud setting - I've found that I can fit a larger stone in a jacket, if it's in a martini setting, where the same stone in a 4-prong basket setting would be too large. Are your studs diamonds or colored stones? Is there any way to un-set your stones, and send the empty settings?

Thank you Cellentani for chiming in!

Hmmm, I was afraid of that. My diamond studs are in a 4-prong basket setting and I am reluctant to take the stones out of its settings! ;( I was hoping that maybe someone here has a magic formula! lol! Oh well!

You can buy earring jackets on Ebay and I believe Lanbo has them also. They fit various different sizes so don't give up!

I used to own a pair of 1.10 ctw earrings and I ordered earing jackets from white flash for 1 ctw earrings. There was a little bit of room to go up or down in size. Their jackets are very nice and sparkly! What size are your earrings? I have since upgraded to 1.50 ctw so I sold mine but I plan on buying another pair of jackets from them.
